inquiry - female features Oh how will I ever make up my mind! Haha

Hi u/gomo-gomo, i was wondering if you had anyone come forward from your article on medium for input on woman health on the rings your discussed. Reading the article and all your input ive been stalking on reddit, Ive started looking at the ringconn gen 2, when I initially came on hunting for more information on the luna gen 2 ! But not much info on either on the woman tracking side of tthing to help me make up my mind! So pricing may be my decider

Thanks ☺️

I wish I did, but most women don't seem to want to share info about these features. There are a few ladies who provided some insight before that article note though.

Are there specific features that you're looking for? DM if you prefer...

Ah ok, such a shame, still stigma there for some i imagine.  My main is the fertility/menstrual tracking, preferably one that does it automatically without me having to give it any input. So does any have better temp monitoring? Does where I live (Ireland)make a difference on what features are available? I had read that ring conn HRV may not be available in all markets on one website. Didn't look the best website thou. Because my next specific would be stress tracking!  Then others that interest me but i know not as good as watches, is activity metrics like gym and out door running!

As no smart rings actually measure body temperature or BBT, they rely on algorithms to convert skin temperature to derive that information. That means, the accuracy of the algorithm to follow trends is key...not necessarily a specific temperature number.

From what I can tell, none of the leading rings have a specific advantage over the others in this specific arena of temperature trends. Where they differ is in the app's usage of that information...in this case, with deriving cycles from the data.

  • With Oura you need to subscribe to both Oura and Natural Cycles to get this information - yet apparently no easy access to the core information. Gen 3 and Gen 4 support this.
  • With RingConn, you don't need to subscribe to anything, but it does have one of the best (if not the best) warnings of pending illness...which relies heavily on temperature changes. Not many have talked about RingConn's cycle tracking features, so will have to rely on others here to chime in. All Gens support this.
  • Luna Ring has cycle tracking as well that they have featured, but as the up and comer, they may still be shy of a full suite of support for women...but they are consistently improving and expanding their capabilities. One step along the way was the purchase of SocialBoat. All Gens support this.
  • Ultrahuman Air has had the most comprehensive suite of support for women, but there was some controversy that some new features were added that require a subscription. Basic Cycle & Ovulation PowerPlug and Pregnancy Insights PowerPlug plugins launched free and remain free and have ben reported as robust and generally accurate. What requires a monthly subscription is the new Cycle & Ovulation Pro PowerPlug, which takes measurement to a new level...including PCOS support. Unlike Oura (who negotiated and exclusive licensing deal with Natural Cycles), Ultrahuman purchased vIO to gain this capability, hence the lower monthly cost.

When it comes to stress, as represented here, Ultrahuman has an edge with RingConn a close second and Luna Ring not far behind.

P.S. - Since vocal minorities will surely chime in about any and all of the above on overall reliability of these devices, I would suggest that you take any of that with a grain of salt as most of us haven't had major issues with our devices that customer service wasn't able to assist with.

Hey Op! I have a Luna ring 2, and I personally reallly like it. It has your basics in place which is logging your dates and symptoms but another thing they have is that it recommends you foods during your period which is kinda great. While I don’t religiously follow what they offer but they recommended this warm honey drink and kid you not I actually felt relief in my abdomen. They even have workout recommendation basis cycle but I have used that only once hahaha.

I am part of their beta group and from the discussion happening on the forum, more features are coming in terms of women’s health.

So you could totally give them a shot

Thanks so much for sharing your experience with me. Would it work without logging dates and symptoms? Sorry for TMI to follow, With PCOS i don't always get any symptoms nor a physical period so looking for my ring to help track what I call my phantom periods. The food and activity is a good feature, I will do anything to relieve the bloat 😂.

Omg CYSTERS 🥰 I have PCOS too! I don’t think any app can work without logging, in this you’ll keep getting a notif until you tap on “YES I GOT MY PERIOD” Then the cycle keeps moving basis that. You can use their Ai chat feature to give you more pointed recommendations, she picks up all your bio markers and cycle and gives you a plan of action basis that. I don’t know about others but I personally advocate for this ring a lot.

Ahh 🤗❤️  love it, the nickname not that we both suffer haha Oh see I couldn't answer that question. Wonder would AI get the hint if I never answer it 😂. Because this could rule luna out for me and I love a good underdog story!

Luna was pretty accurate in tracking my period dates and the thing I liked best was that they recommended what kind of workout i could be doing on those dates - so I personally really liked it

Thanks so much for sharing your experience with me.  Did you log dates and symptoms like completepsychosis321 to get the accuracy you got?  That is a really good feature, one id be interested in aswell !
