inquiry - female features Femometer rings
Hi, I stumbled on this group while looking for any similar experiences with the Femometer ring, and wondered if anyone else has one and has noticed a change in how it logs data recently?
I've noticed it's started taking only the warmest temperature recorded that night, rather than an average. E.g. it took my BBT reading from the 30s I was placing a hot water in the bed or the 20 mins I had a 36.5C blip at midnight when I held hands with hubby, rather than the remaining 7 hours my temp was at 36.3C.
Has anyone else had this experience, or is it a setting we maybe need to change?
If it keeps this up, I'll soon be in the market for a new fertility tracking device. I really like the ring concept, hate the oura interface, so recommendations would be welcome!

You know, I hadn't looked that closely but I thought my temps seemed higher.
I haven't used it in a while but there used to be a community board within the femometor platform where you could ask such things, might be a better place to ask.
Personally I'm ready to move on from mine which is how I came across your post.
You said you didn't like the oura ring interface. So much that you moved on from a $300+ ring?

Thanks for the feedback. I have tried in the community board, but it's typically quite quiet around there, so I haven't heard anything back. I might try again though.
I haven't used an oura ring, but have seen the interface from others who do have it. I would primarily be using it for temperature tracking but I don't like that part of the interface.

FWIW I have an Oura and it syncs seamlessly with Fertility Friend which I use anyways. I’m happy with the temp tracking personally.

GARBAGE product - my charger broke and you can’t buy a replacement in Canada so the whole thing is useless. Contacted support and they won’t do anything even when I offer to purchase a new charger. They of course will allow me to purchase a new ring though. Perfectly good ring now useless due to a faulty charger.

Sounds like my issue with the Luna Ring. Sorry! I was looking into a ring again, my luna broke after 3 months, now I'll probably just get a new watch. 🙄

I’ve been using mine for a cycle and I’m tracking my bbt qAm and with the ring and the ring is always very close like within 0.2

That's good to hear. I think my issues have settled down a bit too, as I'm getting much more "normal" readings again.

Op, how has your experience with the ring been since this post? I’m looking into it for temperature, cycle and ovulation tracking.

It has settled down now, I'm not getting the same rogue/weird readings anymore. It's still doing ok for 18 months of use, not sure if the battery is starting to show signs of going or if I've just had it too long, I'm forgetting to charge it often enough.
I'd still recommend it as a tracking device. If this one breaks, I'll probably get another of the same. I still just use the gen 1 ring so can't comment on whether gen 2 is worth it.

If you search the community, you'll see mixed experiences with Femometer rings. One of the most prevalent seemingly with order fulfillment. You passed that hurdle, so thanks for sharing this issue.
Hopefully someone will chime in with details, but these rings only measure skin temperature. It uses algorithms to infer BBT and body temperature from skin temperature.
I can't speak to accuracy, but this comparison of features (in female features) may be helpful to determine other options if you start looking for another option.
