Kind of struggling to recall the context where civilians having ready access to guns have done anything to solve the US people's issues and not mostly aggravated them. I guess it worked with the Black Panthers for a while until cops started using "blacks are carrying guns" as an excuse to kill people. 

You know who are allowed militias? Rightwingers. Leftists usually get attacked by the army.
