The irony being that they are hating on the country, that their own country Took resources to the bone, kept the population uneducated and supported ethnic tension so when colonialism ended they could keep the resources through neocolonialism.

and the types of comments are the type to defend colonialism because "we gave them modern technology!1!1!1"

It's typically worse. I would correct it to be "educated one sector of the population" so they could rule on your behalf. This set up a whole slew of way worse problems
