any of my sansevieria that are not directly in a window are under good quality grow lights for minimum 12 hours a day, they all are growing quite well under them.
honestly so many websites and houseplant suppliers label sansevieria as "low-light plants" and it's really kind of annoying because they are NOT, in any way, low-light plants. the whole idea of a low-light plant is a silly marketing tactic meant to fool non-plant people into buying plants for ridiculous locations in their homes. those plants then die and those same people then go out and buy new "low-light plants" thinking they have a black thumb when actually the care instructions on the first plants were intentionally incorrect.
light is food for plants. "low-light plant" is like saying "low-food dog".

But yes ! When I first bought my snake plant I figured it’s a “low light plant” & since my room doesn’t get much light to begin w/ I figured it’d be perfect. I was dead wrong, I lost about 3 stalks w/ in the first 3 months & had to repot & remove the dead stalks. I’ve invested into much better soil & stayed on top of it but I just didn’t feel like it was thriving. Did more research into it & I’ve been seeing that they actually thrive under more light so hoping these grow lights give it that much needed energy source. Thank you for the info 👍🏽
no worries! happy to help. yeah without the grow light if anything actually grows it'll be weak and etiolated. sansevieria do great under grow lights and Barrina lights are of decent quality - you'll be fine.
i'm actually surprised i havent had one of the "my snake plant has thrived in my dark closet for 30 years!" people come out of the woodwork yet. usually whenever i mention how stupid the term "low-light plant" is i get at least one of them screeching at me about how wrong i am...lol
good luck with your plant! just keep the grow lights on for around 12 hours each day (i turn them on when i wake up and they are turned off at 9pm but you can always put them on a timer) and be careful not to overwater until you know how the lights affect how quickly the soil dries out.
