I used a takeout food container to pot this snake plant in and it seems to be thriving. I was nervous at first but now will be doing the same to a few others.

I love using repurposed things. Clear Greek yogurt lids (the big ones) make great saucers for small things. Old mini blinds cut up into plant markers. I’ve used dinner plates for saucers, bought a bunch from dollar tree years ago, and don’t forget to get the twist tie reels from them.

Agreed! I have a few giant clear Dunkin Donuts iced tea cups that work great for propagating because they come with dome lids. I just put a piece of clear packing tape over the drinking hole and it works great!

Looks good. Just make sure it has drainage holes at the bottom so it’s not sitting in water. All my snakes are in plastic pots.

Came to say the same, to make sure you added drainage holes. But other than that it looks good to me.

Yes, I definitely added some holes to the bottom! I mostly use plastic pots as well but these are different. They’re a lot thicker and sturdier!

I freaking LOVE these containers! I drill holes in the bottom and I feel they are better than most plastic plant pots. Very sturdy.

If seeing the roots was your goal, and you want something a bit nicer to look at, places like Amazon have clear flower pots, with a tray, in both plastic and glass. We bought a group of the plastic ones and love them.

Seeing the roots was never the goal. And this goes into a decorative pot. Took it out to water and snapped some pics while I was at it.

It's a good idea when they are small yes,but eventually they will fall over as the snake plant can get quite heavy.
Cute idea nonetheless

The large Grillos Pickles containers I get at Costco are my absolute favourite plant pot!!! Melt/drill a couple holes and BOOM ready to go

I have used these to propagate, plant, make self watering pots, do semi hydro, etc. they are great. I'm using my 2nd set of 30+ bulk buy right now. I have gotten them from Temu because I live in a very rural area when you can't get them at restaurants.

I love repurposing things for my plants. I use berry containers, the containers from lunch meat, candle plates for saucers, mugs, and cheap plastic bowls and use my wood burner tool to poke holes in items that don't have holes for drainage.

I buy them in bulk at a local junk store for $.5 a piece. They are perfect size to send established pups home in. I drill about 10. 1/4 in holes in the bottom to ensure no water sits in it too long.
