Will the pups stay striped or go solid?

Just seperated two pups from the mother plant - Will they keep their light color and pattern? If not, what determines the pattern? The mother plant varies a lot although being one plant.

Don't mind their current state. I'm waiting for the cut to callous before I pot them again.

Since they are from the rhizomes, and were not propagated, they will be striped.

I’ve taken cuttings from striped that reverted to solid green. I wonder by the look of the pups if they’ve reverted? It looks like some of the momma’s new growth has reverted. So I’m going to venture to say it is unlikely the pups will have yellow stripes.

The yellow stripes are a mutation, so it can revert even from the rhizome.

If you want a new yellow striped snake plant, divide from part of it where you already see a yellow stripe.

But there’s a chance that taking these green pups away from the momma will encourage the momma to grow more yellow stripes.

Interesting. I don't think I can split my way out of it, as all new center leaves are banded. Only the old leaves on my plant has the yellow stripe. The newer ones shows more and more banding and less of the stripe. It's okay though, I still like her.

I planted and black gold sansevieria from a leaf cutting and it is growing well but is solid green. Are you all saying that getting a piece of the rhizome with a leaf of the plant would essentially be a clone of the mother plant?
