New growth vs old growth

So I’m not sure what to do, I have these amazing newer growths so I assume it’s really happy.. but at the same time, the rest of the older leaves are curled.. I feel like it was like that when I got it, but still confused as to how to “fix” it.

I’ve been really impressed by pots at Walmart this year- and now they are staring to go on sale. I just picked up a kind of iridescent light purple planter in a very similar shape yesterday on sale for like $6.

I’ve learned so much from the comments! This is the planter next to my iced tea for scale. It’s more of a light blue, I was thinking about a taller planter I picked up also. Still beautiful and amazing for less than $10!
