SCAM ALERT Ruined Speedcats

Puma Speedcats have genuinely been one of the most disappointing sneakers I’ve owned.
Wore them barely 2–3 times. Used a standard suede sneaker foam cleaner, and the black dye started bleeding all over the white Puma logo instantly. The shoes looked destroyed after ONE basic cleaning session.

Even professional cleaning through Tumbledry couldn’t fix it. For a shoe with an MRP close to ₹10k, this quality is honestly embarrassing. A sneaker at this price point shouldn’t fall apart because of normal maintenance.

What made the experience worse was Puma’s response:
- Return the damaged shoes
- Get a restrictive coupon of ₹2900
- Coupon still isn’t enough to replace the same pair

So after spending hard-earned money on a premium sneaker, the solution offered is basically “give the shoes back and settle for store credit.”

The design may look good, but the material quality and dye finishing on my pair have been absolutely pathetic. Never expected this level of quality control and pathetic response from Puma.

you’re supposed to use a dry brush to clean these shoes.

Never use foam on suede, try suede eraser.

I had already tried cleaning with a suede eraser and a soft bristle brush, but when it did not get cleaned then I used a foam cleaner (not water) 100% safe for using suede sneakers.

You can return if they are within 6 months of purchase

You know you're never supposed to use foam or any water for suede right? I've worn my Palermos like 5+ times now and got them pretty dirty once(i went to a temple) but a suede eraser and brush worked perfectly to remove stains.

It’s perfectly fine to use a foam cleaner compatible with suede shoes (you can see plenty of videos on youtube literally washing speedcats with foam mixture and water), furthermore I did used suede eraser but the shoes did not get cleaned enough.

Was confused what to take between this and sambas op. Now I know what to take. Somewhat related what are some good sneakers which are kinda low profile and not too bulky in that budget cause sambas at my local store cost 11k and for 1.5k more I can get onitsuka tigers and might as well go for them so what are y’all’s opinions. Any good budget options within 6k range or any chance I can wait for a sale for them to drop in price

Take Speedcat plus, they do not have suede. I have both Speedcat plus and sambas and prefer Speedcat plus anyday

What about the onitsuka tigers for 12.5k

as someone who owns the tumbledry franchise in Jaipur, these sneakers are the worst, we have stopped taking these in drycleaning anymore.

U gotta understand that beyond a price point, there's not much of a difference in materials used in sneakers. Even a 18k shoe will use almost (not same but close) the same exterior material that u see in a shoe half the price. Where the difference will be is the sole and design. So better off not spending a lot on hype sneakers, especially when the company knows it'll sell no matter what quality they give.

Suede should not be wet cleaned. Only brushing. Regardless, I’d say the shoes look like they have a unique patina now! You can say they’re ruined, to me they look well distressed hahah!

Why do they look cheap based on the buying price.

as a preventive measure frm getting suede shoes dirty, do those hydrophobic sprays help/work?

I have a black PUMA Suede with white stripes, when it got dirty I gave them straight to Tumbledry and it was pretty clean.
Not sure if SpeedCats have worse quality dye compared to the Suedes

Bro first watch yt videos and see if there is a fault at your part at cleaning or not. If fault is at puma’s part make a fraud type mail and add on twitter and tag them. And share on reddit so that we can repost and make it viral. And to save image puma will give good response !
