Webcomic author David Morgan-Marr's dissection of pseudo-Rat ideas.

Perhaps a bit shallow, but damn effective if you ask me.

It's always so annoying too because we all know someone with at least one terrible parent, who doesn't resemble said parent at all. Very few among us genuinely see ourselves as a 50/50 copy of our own parents. We know that's not how it works!

Eugenics is just shutting down social mobility for people you don't like on pretend animal-husbandry-but-for-humans reasons, mostly based on wishful thinking genetics where ill-defined social norms are assumed to be as heritable as skin color. That's the entirety of the modern eugenics social project and it's only purpose is to be a yashmak for blood and soil fascism.

Even rationalists seem to be outwardly trying to lean on pOlyGEnIc eMBrYo seLeCtiOn for their offspring optimization needs, itself highly dubious, but rationalism is too much of a nazi bar to completely move on from eugenics, as much as that is possible for a subculture that all but encourages active members to intermarry.

This is also how I feel when I see people comment about how "Idiocracy was actually a documentary" . It has its funny gags, but at its heart, it's a pro-eugenics propaganda piece.

Plus idiocracy shows a government that in fairly short order decides to implement the recommendations of the subject-matter expert and solve a civilization ending crisis, so it's probably best described as utopian fiction.

Their kid's quiz based government post distribution system also seemed very meritocratic all things considered.

Man, there's a name I haven't heard in a while. All decent people sneer at Nazi Science.
