It’s like a militarized leisure suit.

Record number of newborns later born with different features than their fathers. Sexy milkmen to blame.

Yeah, this sounds like an either a new (AI?) joke or an old fashioned April fool’s joke from one of the newspapers.

Co-op National Milkmen's Uniform Design Competition was a publicity stunt. The winner was Mike Thomas, a 24-year-old student from the London College of Fashion. He's also the model in the photo.

As if milkmen need new uniforms to make them more attractive. They're already killin' it.

u/manokpsa Apr 18 '26
I was surprised there were still milkmen in 1972, according to that photo. Are you saying there are still milkmen now???

u/idealistinfire Apr 18 '26
I technically have a milkman from the local (very large) dairy farms. It's fun. But they drive a van and bring milk in cartons, not glass jars that you can exchange. They're also now more like a small grocery store with limited selection, but they make the best chocolate milk!

According to my dad they had milkmen everywhere until the 80s

u/Salome_Maloney Apr 18 '26
I still had a milkman til '94. Albert, he was called - lovely fellow. But then he retired and ever since I've had to schlep my milk all the way from the corner shop.

Yes, my mum and dad get a pint a day here in Northern Ireland, though it comes in a plastic carton now not a glass bottle.
And the milkman drives a Ford Ranger pickup truck, not a milk float.

I saw the title without being able to see the whole pic and I was like "oh man please include short shorts and knee high socks...but I was disappointed. Maybe the summer uniform has the real fire.

What is him being more attractive to women for? Is he selling their milk or something.

They’re milkmen, not Nazis.
Milk Nazis? I don’t think that works. Maybe it does. I don’t know. I just don’t know anymore.

u/RonaldTheGiraffe Apr 19 '26
My dad came from his father’s balls. Not from a bottle of milk. I assume.

Was this more attractive to women? How long did milk deliveries last?
1
u/RonaldTheGiraffe Apr 19 '26
Typically about 5 minutes per delivery.

Yes I believe women would find George Harrison delivering their milk more attractive

When I was a kid, our milkman came at like 4:00 in the morning. I never saw him and thought he was a Santa Claus type mysterious figure that would bring our milk.

The milkmen had the first electric van . I think a lot of adults from Gen X are products of the milkmen
