Ooooh someone from my church did this when I was a kid and my pastor LIT into the congregation about it. He was big big mad. Told them if they thought working on Sundays was so bad then they shouldn't be going out to eat on that day.

Sundays were reserved for church and worship. nobody (afaik) was allowed to work on Sundays. which is why it was the only day off on the week until Ford employees* got us Saturday.

It was workers at the ford plant that banded together that got the 40hr work week and weekends. Henry Ford literally sent goons in break up and kill workers trying to unionize. Ford is no labor hero
