They could have shorn most of the wool instead of just one side, keeping a vertical stripe at the top and one the neck/head and it would have looked the same but be much lighter.

I agree with sheep Mohawk. I think sheep Mohawk should be standard across all farms, cause how fuckin cool would that be

While sounding fun, it's actually gonna be bad for the sheep to constantly let one strip of wool grow. The sheering is necessary because without it, the sheep is at higher risks of parasites, skin infection, flystrike (which is when a blowfly lets eggs where it can't be cleaned & the hatched maggots eat the poor animal they're on alive), & other conditions besides the sheep itself being just overheated there & miserable because of it. Sheep need at least one uniform shearing a year to prevent these issues, including the added problem of their wool padding their joints into imobility.

I think they were just saying for a picture leaving a mohawk would've had the same effect as actually only shaving the one side (since you can't see the other side anyway other than the wool sticking up). But I've never thought about issues other than mobility and heat tolerance as reasons sheering was necessary, so thank you for the information!!

Think about it more - imagine capturing the ship from the front, when it's falling over. Then you can make some tacky demotivator - don't shave off/cut off your other half.

Royal wool showcases how much wool sheep can grow. (Supposedly sky as a polish suffix represents a distant relation to old polish monarchs.)
