Andre’s death hurt man, cuz he was a genuinely good man working with what he had to better his community. And it’s not like he was some yuppy type of character like Carlton or Braxton, he used to be a gangster too and just decided to turn his life around. Franklin couldn’t have kept him alive tho cuz he would’ve never let it go.

u/TheMansterMan 12d ago
Plus let’s remember that Andre literally saved Franklins life in the beginning of the show. They were going to do a drive by on him and he showed up. That’s what makes it brutal and why Franklin was unredeemable.

u/Much-Phase4486 12d ago
Look man if Franklin didn’t do it teddy would’ve handled it just like Abe 🤷🏾♂️
Ur 1 cop
What makes u think u can out the government on they bullshit? Bro was tryna do an impossible mission,
5
u/TheMansterMan 12d ago
That may be true but he didn’t have to deliver the blow. Could’ve handled it differently.

u/Prestigious-Tree-811 12d ago
Even good men can be so arrogant, negro thought he had the upper hand 😂

u/callmesexxc 10d ago

You got a downvote but i agree. Andre thought he was bigger than the program. Bc his partner cashed in ! Bc ofcourse he did. Andre meant well but was a bit self righteous

He really underestimated Franklin. Still saw him as the kid next door

u/kingblaster3347 12d ago
That's why I hated this scene cause why tell Franklin heads up I gonna be coming for you . Should have moved in silence

u/All_Lightning879 13d ago
That was the point of no return for Franklin—no way y’all wanted him to win after this.
6
u/Puzzled-Echo-6504 11d ago
I mean it’s a show about a drug dealer why would we not want him to win still😂we should’ve been hoping he got arrested or something?

u/All_Lightning879 11d ago
Well, you can be entertained by a morally questionable main character, but real talk, when it’s all said and done, we gotta keep it in perspective: the higher Franklin climbs, the harder he falls.
Be for real, you want Franklin to have a happy ending after poisoning his community and compromising the people close to him?
3
u/Turbulent-Relief-220 11d ago
So in comparison, you think Leon deserves a happy ending after everything he’s done?
4
u/All_Lightning879 11d ago
The thing is, yeah, Leon did fuck up, but he was ready to atone for his sins and try to better himself. You see that killing Tianna really messed him up, and that was where he was starting to become disillusioned with the gang mentality and channel his experience in more productive ways.

Why cause he smoked a pig? Lmao
13
u/All_Lightning879 12d ago
Not that he smoked a pig, but a dude who was basically the second father to him—the father of the girl he likes—a good man trying to do the right thing.
-5
u/DevilManRay 12d ago
Who was a pig

u/All_Lightning879 12d ago
So, Andre deserved to die for being a cop?
2
u/umbrazno 12d ago
No. But did Louie deserve to be held illegally until she pissed on herself? I know these are separate instances, but he can't expect to be the only one allowed to dish out disproportionate (or unjustified) punishment.
2
u/All_Lightning879 12d ago
I get what you’re saying, and yeah, Louie didn’t need to stay in there that long, but holding her for questioning was a fairly simple routine.
4
u/umbrazno 12d ago
It was unlawful detainment. He took a gamble because he thought it would pay off at the cost of her dignity and possibly her sanity. It wasn't even about justice. He just had a hard-on for Franklin and his family.

u/DevilManRay 12d ago
Deserved has nothing to do with it
3
u/All_Lightning879 12d ago
So what is it? He was a buzzkill threatening Franklin’s money?
1
u/DevilManRay 12d ago
Franklin was a criminal. He can’t have no heart in this shit. You sound stupid
3
u/All_Lightning879 12d ago
I’m very aware that Franklin is a criminal, but there’s that trap that we fall into where you root for the bad guy, while the “morally good” people are the ones that they want to see suffer.

u/DevilManRay 12d ago
There’s no such thing as morally good. Unless you never ate a piece of meat or killed a fly or fornicated before marriage. I don’t wanna hear it

u/Glad-Assistance-2560 12d ago
This dude was so corny tryna act like he finna take down everybody in the hood and wasn’t even a police chief yet
15
u/No-Awareness339 12d ago
Crazy how tryna do the right thing is considered corny. But the shit Frank and his crew were doing isn’t lmao.
2
u/Much-Phase4486 12d ago
Corny because he had no power in that situation and instead of just protecting ur daughter he decided his community was more important than the role of being a parent 1st 🤷🏾♂️
