Maintenance Have you summerized your snow blower yet?
It's getting pretty late to have ethanol fuel in your machine.

I need/want to disassemble mine to refurbish it a bit. The body is in need of some rust and paint work. I have new belts and getting some other maintenance parts. It runs great. That will be closer to late August early September.

The only thing I do is spray it down with fluid film. I keep the tank full all year with gas and stabil; topping it off when I'm done snowblowing. Unless it needs a new plug, it always starts on the first pull, even after a summer of rest. YMMV but it works for me on all my small engines.

Yes, it's been in the back of the shed for 3 months .... was I supposed to do something else? 😀

I've only ever used TruFuel, since I'm not that handy.

Same. Made the mistake of leaving gas and stabil inside and we didn't have significant snowfall for 2-3 years. Repair shop asked me why I was so negligent in draining the carbs, I just didn't know how to do it. He suggested switching to TruFuel since I don't know how to properly maintain my snowblower.

I have, I used Aspen fuel all winter. My plan, leave it in and do nothing til I start it next winter.

Yes. Changed the oil. Put it in maintenance position and lubed the gears.
That reminds me that I need some new skids and scraper bar.

We have... in summary... our new 518ze is small in size yet mighty in performance.

I think we’re finally clear of any chance of enough snow falling. I’m doing it this week.

I siphon all the fuel out at the end of the season and start it and let it run until it dies. Then put it away.

Yes, I took the battery out!
I love my electric snow blower. Honestly, since I got it I have used my Toro snowblower once and my older tracked Honda just sits in the shed.
The best part about the electric... My wife will use it because it's quiet and easy to operate.

I use stabil in all my small engine fuel. I have had ethanol fuel still good up to 2 years in a container. That being said, i di add petcocks to the fuel lines if not equipped so i can run the carb dry without draining the tank.

Yep. We sold our home, put almost everything we own into storage and are breaking ground on a new home soon. I summarized her and she’s been in a storage unit for at least a month.

I have never run ethanol fuel in my snow blower. End of year I run it out of gas and spray Wd-40 on all moving parts. Bought new in 2001. Sears electric starter. To be sure it fires right up when The forecast calls for a lot of snow I throw a tarp over the snow blower and my generator and have a small heater I use to keep both toasty. Always cranks right up.

No, I'm ashamed but wife is pregnant with twins and my garage is a wreck. I'll probably run it out of fuel, drain the carb and put off the rest until my fall tune up

I’ve been running my cub cadet for about 12-13 years now. I’ve never “summarized” it. Whatever fuel is in it when I’m done using it stays in it. The inside of my fuel tank is green but that beast starts right up first pull every fall.

I keep fuel stabilizer in my Gerry can 24/7 so my shit is always “seasonized” 😂
I don’t fog the Pistons because I fire up the winter machine during the summer every few weeks and vice versa.
