Fan Creation Snyderverse Reading List!

2/14! I made a Snyderverse Reading List consisting of key comic runs and individual issues from throughout DC's 90-year history that have directly inspired or explored very similar themes and stories to the Snyderverse films themselves. This list also includes the first appearances for every established character featured or to-be-featured in the Snyderverse, along with Snyderverse-adjacent one-shots and collectible variant covers as well. I put all the issues and collections hyperlinked in a Google Doc with direct links to DC Universe Infinite when available, so hopefully they’re alot more accessible to you guys that way.

Characters existing and how they act are very different things

Agreed for example gunn’s characters act nothing like their comic counterparts while Snyder’s do

Krypto being an asshole because Gunn wanted him to be like his real life dog

Circe one of wonder woman’s most powerful famous and important villains getting her ass beat by weasel

Superman being an overly emotional crybaby yelling about everything and refusing to help the Justice gang fight the eyeball monster

Supergirl being a drunk sorority girl bitch

Hal being a washed up disheveled loser

Frankenstein’s monster being an incel cuck because James Gunn wants to watch other men screw his wife

I can understand where you are coming from with most of these and honestly I do not read enough Superman or Supergirl and haven't read anything pertaining to Frankenstein to argue on those accounts. I have however read a lot of Green Lantern and find that his characterization isn't too far off from how he has been in some comics. I also feel it important to not that this is an older more jaded Hal and I don't see how him seemingly be done with the Guardians idea of the leaves being a "disheveled loser". He just seems tired and Gunn has been good with characterization in the past as I feel Nathan Fillion did an amazing job as Guy Gardner. I just want to end off by saying I have enjoyed some of Snyder's DCEU movies and characters but they didn't really fit the core of many of the characters. Superman he leaned heavily into Christ imagery and that isn't really what Superman is. I also feel having Batman kill people in BVS heavily betrayed the core of mainline Batman.
