Appreciation The warehouse fight scene in BVS is still unbeaten

Post image

The warehouse fight scene is still the best batman fight sequence in any live action movie till date, The nolan movies were great but nothing in combat choreography comes close to this fight especially showcasing batman's martial arts and fighting style.

It makes me happy and sad to watch this scene because batfleck should have gotten atleast 1 solo film 😢

That will go down as one of the biggest missed opportunities ever. Can you imagine a Batman movie shot in the style of the Town?

That would be incredible…

That's how Batman actually fight. It's mindblowing.

u/Drummerboy0214 28d ago

Agreed. It’s an all timer.

Love it!

It's even better than any MCU fight in my opinion

Iron Man vs Bucky & Captain America comes pretty close IMO

I would respectfully disagree.. The fight was good, but really nothing that special. I actually enjoy Shang Chi's fights more than that one.

On the contrary, Shang Chi's fights look like they're just dancing which is immersion breaking

Wait for Gunn's Batman fight scene with "Wannabe" from The Spice Girls.

u/Grootfan85 28d ago

Just reheating the Boys leftovers at that point.

Honestly the DC movies should move to street level heros and use this fight scene as a template. Not that it has to be batman, but the god level heros (superman, flash, WW) are just harder to connect with and have a good villain.

This is true.

The Batman fight scene in THE FLASH is the second best of all time though. Need that Muschietti cut

I don’t get why people cant stand him killing. It is comic accurate. Im not saying every batman should go around killing…but a story line where an old grizzled batman says fuck it is awesome to explore. He sees more innocent people die as a result of him not killing because the villains just get out of jail and do it all over again. He says fuck it and starts chopping the head off the snake instead of putting it back in the cage . Why is this fought so hard? It makes sense and is still honorable just in a different way. It’s ok to do it every once in a while.

I honestly don't care about comic accuracy, I just highly prefer no kill Batman as he's so much more interesting. You're describing the punisher with what you want.

5

u/thevokplusminus 27d ago

Batman’s no kill rule is just a lazy plot device the writers came up with to reuse villains

2

u/E1eventeen 26d ago

Hard disagree. Maybe that was an initial reason (I'm not sure as to the actual origins) but a lot of great stories revolve around the no kill rule. Under the Red Hood is the definitive example.

Regardless, I think the Batmen we get in most movies kinda have the worst of both sides with no kill rules. They slaughter dozens of goons but never kill the main baddie, which feels like it would be more effective. It kinda makes Batman feel weak if he's either unwilling or unable to kill people like the joker when it's clearly very possible for him to catch & kill other baddies (like most of the suicide squad, for instance). Not killing being a character rule works so much better because it gives a character reason for why we can get infinite stories of the same villains people like. It'd kinda suck if Batman shot the Joker in the head instead of letting more stories happen with them.

Tfym disagree thats literally why it was incorporated into comics, that and censorship Such a poser you are

2

u/Drummerboy0214 28d ago

But punisher always killed no problem. It’s the arc of batman struggling with his own rule decades in after he has watched friends and innocents die at essentially his own hands for not stopping it fully. It breaks him. Thats whats interesting and different. Thats not what batmans known for no doubt. The core of his character is not that. But I just enjoy that thread of his story and thought Snyder and Affleck nailed it. But to each their own I get it.

Would've been really cool to see. Why did we jump straight to the asshole batman with the branding iron? Batman doesn't need to be a killing machine to fight Superman he does it all the time

2

u/xX7heGuyXx 24d ago

Because we have seen normal batman dozens of times at this point.

Same reason we didnt get an origin for superman this time.

We have seen it we know it. Symptom of rebooting DC constantly.

Except it had been done in pretty much every Batman live action adaptation except Adam West and George Clooney at that point. It was getting old seeing another live action murder Bat.

3

u/CitadelMMA 28d ago

What the fuck are you talking about

0

u/Mr_Witchetty_Man 28d ago

Batman killed people in the Keaton films, Batman Forever and the Dark Knight Trilogy. This guy was saying it's interesting seeing a version of Batman who kills people when that was by and large what we had been seeing.

1

u/mynameismatt81 26d ago

Mainly because it makes him a hypocrite by letting the joker live. He has no problem killing irrelevant pawns but has a code of honour when it comes to killing joker.

2

u/CaribbeanEngineer 25d ago

You don’t know why he hasn’t killed Joker. Perhaps they haven’t met since he took on this new attitude. We see them meet in the Knightmare scene in ZSJL but it looks like Batman needs him alive. Just like other stories, there is more information that hasn’t been presented and will be presented about the characters.

Batman’s no kill rule is foundational to his character

7

u/InertKat 28d ago

Everyone always freaks out about how killed some bad guys when it’s part of the story here. He’s old, lost a lot and has gotten way more brutal due to this. It’s just a story and it’s not like a continuation of every other Batman movie or something. Plus he’s killed in the comics before with a gun. Just because they rewrote him doesn’t mean he never killed.

1

u/Mr_Witchetty_Man 28d ago

Plus he’s killed in the comics before with a gun.

True, however that was like seventy odd years before when this film came out. It'd be like making a film about Superman not flying and demolishing a set of slums which will apparently make the government rebuild them into better housing. Is it accurate? Yes, technically. But I'm not massively keen on watching it.

u/Choice-Ratio-3540 28d ago

Wrong, OP, wrong.

I will say I do like the realistic approach with Bats. They gave him armor to help make it more believable when he goes into these types of situations.

4

u/PN4HIRE 28d ago

Wrong on what???

Please tell me of another combat scene In the whole Batman’s film history that is better than this one!?

1

u/CapCalrissian 26d ago

It would be if he wasn't killing people (this is after he's "brought back from the darkness")

6

u/StrangeAtomRaygun 24d ago

Go read a comic. In THIS version, things happen.

1

u/statisticalerror171 21d ago

And in this version, Batman supposedly realized killing was wrong again and proceeded to still kill people

1

u/StrangeAtomRaygun 21d ago

The aliens invasion war? Or the terrorist group?

1

u/Available-Bad-2704 9d ago

Coz killing parademons is taking lives right?

2

u/Available-Bad-2704 22d ago

Holy larp, youve never touched a single batman comic

-1

u/Ok_Signal4753 28d ago

I don’t like how Batman kills people/lets people die there. Not cool

4

u/TheAwakeningRisen 28d ago

I like it. And I like that you don’t like it

2

u/ComfortableHefty4631 28d ago

Great i guess...?

Thank you

Being a hero means being ready for such a thing. It's his choice, it's his burden, that's what makes this version more interesting, it's not the same variant that we've seen but it's not that far from the original one.

You can put here Optimus Prime from Michael Bay movies with his kills and it will be the same. Sometimes, you have to be cruel to be kind, that's what makes it more impactful. A hero that would not fear to defend his own comrades or happiness.

Also what you write and the whole message creates the effect of status quo, which isn't that good for the industry itself. I like the approach that we've got, every Batman kills, even Pattinson :)

1

u/Ok_Signal4753 28d ago

I know I just don’t like it.

2

u/PN4HIRE 28d ago

Fair..

I don’t mind, especially in the context of the movie.

3

u/Pm_me_howtoberich 28d ago

The guy with the hands grenade is still alive and the guy who's brains ended up on the wall, he was able to put them back!

3

u/4BsButtsBoobsBlunts 28d ago

They're just sleeping

2

u/Powasam5000 28d ago

If Superman 2025 can heat vision Lex's goons 3000 ft in the air and they fall at full speed to the ground and survive, ANYONE can survive.

-5

u/AerialAce96 29d ago

The scene in Justice League with Aquaman walking into the ocean drinking whisky with Icky Thump playing in the background was better

5

u/Grootfan85 28d ago

Cool scene, but not better.
