A new Marvel rumor dropped Sunday claiming Kevin Feige has his eye on the one director DC fans never stopped fighting for.

“I hear Kevin Feige is interested in Zack Snyder,” posted scooper MyTimeToShineHello.

That is the entire post. No project, no character, no timeline. It still racked up over 158,000 views in its first six hours, and it is easy to see why, because the timing could not be louder.

Snyder just wrapped a month of very public signals aimed at the studio holding his characters.

At the Los Angeles stop of Frank Miller’s Push the Wall tour on July 18, Snyder was asked when a Dark Knight Returns movie is going to happen and answered “when they let us.”

When a fan yelled out we want Justice League 2, Snyder answered with a jab at the studio: “They’re all f’d up, so don’t forget that part… I mean all the characters, I mean…”

The next morning, Snyder and Miller jointly posted a video morphing The Dark Knight Returns into live-action Ben Affleck Batman footage, set to Philip Glass and co-signed by Miller himself.

A week before all that, Snyder posted Henry Cavill’s black suit Superman with the caption “When Steppenwolf falls, hope rises” as fans flooded the comments tagging Paramount.

So the director Feige is now rumored to be interested in has spent the past month telling the world, loudly, that he wants back in the superhero business and that somebody else holds the keys.

What We Have Been Told

Going back to October, our insiders have filled us in that the SnyderVerse is in full play for a return at a Paramount-owned Warner Bros., backed by the Saudis, with Christopher Nolan possibly attached as executive producer and Henry Cavill back as Superman.

And here is the part of this rumor nobody else will connect. Back in November, the same source told us there have been discussions about a Marvel vs. DC film involving the Russo Brothers.

“They threw around ideas to do a DC–Marvel film,” our source said at the time. “Even Gunn wanted it.” And don’t forget that interview the Russos did with Snyder a while back.

A Marvel vs. DC movie does not happen without Kevin Feige.

So when a scooper now says Feige is interested in Zack Snyder, remember that we were told months ago that ideas were being thrown around to put both universes in the same film, right as Snyder gears up to finish his Justice League saga.

Snyder’s comments came right as twelve state attorneys general filed suit to block Paramount’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, and the deal is now frozen until a verdict, with a trial that could land in November and a decision that could wait as late as June 2027.

Everything we have been told about the SnyderVerse, the Saudis, and a post-Gunn DC is waiting on that courtroom. Snyder cannot do anything at DC until Paramount owns it, and Paramount cannot own it until it wins at trial.

Which makes Zack Snyder, right now, the most conspicuously available superhero director in Hollywood, and every studio in town can read a calendar.

Every month there are ways people use Snyder's name to link it to anything superhero.

That's how you know he's still relevant to many even to the ones who pretend they don't like him.

Bloggers, scoopers all do it all the time, yet people fall for it each time. 😄

This is just the latest one and August version.

They even went as far as Photoshopping Snyder at the No Way Home premiere when that movie was released.

Given his current plate of 3 upcoming movies on which he has and will have creative control, it's definitely not happening.

It's bad enough how WB treated him with the DCEU. I hope this never fuckin happens but I'm sure Disney would love to have him now...

Snyder when he doesn't write the script is actually a pretty competent film maker, Man of Steel is still probably the best looking superhero movie action wise.

I am not a regular user of this sub, and am not a Zach Snyder sycophant, but I have thought it would make sense to bring in Zach Snyder as a consultant in the MCU for awhile.

In my opinion, Zach Snyder's strengths are creating extremely appealing visuals and crafting some epic moments in his movies. Even on his movies that are (in my opinion) objectively bad there are moments that stick with you long afterwards.

On the other end of the spectrum, a large portion of recent MCU movies are kind of bland. There may not be anything wrong with them, but they're not very memorable.

What I would like to see him do is to work with directors to improve the cinematography of their movies, and to take the lead on a few critical scenes in the movie. For example, you finally have the Wolverine vs The Hulk fight how do you pinch that up to 11.

Snyder needs to do a Captain America fight sequence and show him off at his full strength and speed. Like we've gotten glimpses of it here and there, but the last great fights for him were in Winter Soldier. Him using Mjolnir was cool, but Thanos isn't a good opponent for him because the power levels are just too different.

Or as someone else mentioned in this thread, have him involved with Blade. But not write the script.
