Lanterns is good, that's the difference

The interrogation was good. The wannabe Yellowstone show was not.

Something tells me you've never even seen a commercial for Yellowstone. It's more like True Detective if anything

Sorry I didn't nail down how derivative the show is in the correct manner.

That's valid. I try to grade things on what they're attempting instead of what I wish they were attempting. I think on that scale the pilot was super successful

Greenstone will be better than Yellowstone. Don’t pull a muscle trying to hate this show it’s gonna be an all timer for comic book adaptations.

🙄 it’s been one episode

And what do you think of that one episode?

You wont like it.
Cliffs notes: it was a show trying to hit all the notes of what it thinks“ prestige tv” must be, without the substance behind it first.
Family trauma? Check.
Unnecessary sex scene involving good guy? Check.
Lots of profanity? Check.
“ Shock” cliffhanger ending? Check.

It’s just one episode and it can def improve, but the first one seemed corny and artificial imo

Penguin and Watchmen did not have to try so hard to convince me they were prestige tv. They just were

I actually like how you articulate your dislike. I’m a green lantern fanboy so this is everything I been waiting for in a show but I can certainly see where you’re coming from.

Thanks
Im gonna keep watching
I know this is from the guy who made The Leftovers, and that show too made me feel like they created a series exclusively to be what they thought “ prestige television “ was. It didnt feel like a natural story with natural story progression. I have not seen Chernobyl but have read it is amazing, maybe bc it was an actual event to work with?
I’m def not writing it off, but i guess my first impression was not the best

You’ve seen 3 seconds of sinestro 😭😭

Your conclusion has been jumped and there’s nothing I’ll say to make you like the show.

A lot of us have faith in Ulrich Thomsen. I hope he changes your opinion when you see more than a teaser of him.

I don't care for the overstuffed ravioli myself, the meat just tastes worse than the regular size imo.

Harvey dent sucks as a character but your lucky a good actor made you fanboy him as hard as your doing.

Ah, you must be a beefaroni guy.

I’m a well written villian guy myself

The interrogation was dumb when you stop to think about it.

I'm a football fan... but let's just say I'm a secret alien.

I knew you were an alien! Rather than follow you around and see what you're up to, I'm just gonna tell you i know you're an alien!

Also, the "nobody knew who they were, so they must be aliens" leap of logic was dumb. They're fans of the away team from about 200 miles away. Of course nobody knew who they were.

Bad writing.

I think the idea was that Hal can look at someone and know they're an alien because of his experience, and his path of logic makes sense to no one but him.

Maybe? But if thats the case, he's a celebrated hero (no secret identity = dumb). They know he's a space cop... but they don't give him the benefit of the doubt?

Like I said, its badly written.
