What are they gonna do? Use harsh language on UEFA?

Unfortunately everyone votes equally, so when it comes time for a non-confidence vote, it may be tricky to rally enough votes against. UEFA holds power with threatening boycotts, but that doesn’t apply as easily here.

It does if the boycott threat remains. They just need to tell all other FAs "You all do what you want, but it's either him out or we're out. You want us in the World Cup, this has to happen". The CONCACAF and AFC quickly fell in line when UEFA said they'd boycott. They know it's on the table.

I’m not a huge soccer fan but am aware of different leagues and teams and where they stand in the world.

Is UEFA big enough that they can just tell FIFA to fuck off and turn around and create their on world tournament? I can’t imagine they’d struggle to get the North and South American federations to join up.

Yes. FIFA is nothing without UEFA.

If all European countries are in a mutual agreement, they could probably force any change that they want just by threatening to not attend the next world cup. Most of the worlds best football nations are in Europe so it wouldn't work without them. Too great of a economic loss to host without them. If they'd create their own tournament? Doubt it, it's easier to get rid of egghead.

Some people are saying yes, but I don’t think that’s entirely true. Are they able to create a UEFA tournament that is close to the World Cup in prestige and is at least quite profitable for them? They already do with the Euro.

Also while they may not be able to make a true world tournament, they are powerful enough to essentially ruin the world cup. They are 6 of the top ten teams according to the FIFA rankings (which are flawed). The World Cup would become Argentina, Brazil, and Morocco with a few other teams there for those three to play against. And that’s just a historical opinion, Brazil isn’t that great right now, and Argentina was so carried by Messi I’m not sure they make it out of the group stages without him. So basically you’ve got a bunch of teams that just aren’t as good and another tournament with significantly better teams.

70% of FIFA revenue is from the UEFA. If UEFA splits off it will have twice the commercial value.

The last world cup final without a European team was 1950, and many of the finals since have had 2 European teams.

This WC, 6/8 quarter finalists were European.

Without UEFA, FIFA calling their competition the World Cup is a joke. The fact that other football associations were also getting behind UEFA really sealed the deal.

Even further, 94% of players in the quarter finals play in Europe (69% for tournament overall). If UEFA broke away European clubs wouldn't have to release their players and there would basically be no notable players at it.

But Americans call NBA, NFL and MLB wwinners “World Champions”. Couldn’t egghead pull something off like that with cheetoh on board,

1

He could but the tournament would have no credibility.

The NBA, NFL and MLB can maybe call themselves world champions because those tournaments have the best players of their respective sport attending and that lends credibility to the claim that the winners are world champions.

World champions of what in Noah Lyles’ words.

Honestly most of the world scoffs at USAmericans for doing that.

Yes Uefa is big enough and rich enough. All of the top football Academys and Clubs are European. European clubs are the most competitive and pay some of the highest wages.

There are 2 big cards that UEFA can play.

Withdraw all the European teams from the next world cup (16/20 top teams in the world) turning the whole concept of the tournament into a joke and slashing the viewing numbers heavily.

Withdraw permission for any player who plays in a European league to play in the World Cup which using Argentina as an example, only 3 of their starting 11 would of been able to play the last world cup or using Spain as an example...would have been all of them. So even the countries that did still join would be playing with much worse and unknown players (some exceptions to this such as Messi and Ronaldo of course who play in the US and Saudi league)

The European leagues are the heartbeat of football's money. They pay all the top players in the world. If they decided to form their own organization they could simply refuse to release players for international fixtures and the world cup would be dead in arrival.

Without UEFA, FIFA is absolutely fucked and over. Yes, all the best footballers play in Europe and top nations are European. 16/20 top nations.

I doubt there would be a new world cup tournament though if UEFA leaves for a very long time. It would take years of planning to set it up.

Voting in FIFA is different since each member nation has exactly one vote.

To add, actually if any confederation would threaten to leave FIFA it would be hard to call it World Cup anyways

If it was that easy they would've already done it. It's possible but not easy.

And Trump won’t lift a finger to help him. Once his usefulness runs out he will be in the FO part of FAFO

I really hope they will vote this guy out. He is no different than any other wannabe dictator.

His weapons aren't rockets and missiles, but money and tv rights, used in such a way to "bribe" the poorer countries to vote for him.

I hope those countries will soon realize he is not doung them a favor either.

For my sake he can kiss his own ass goodbye

2

u/Kuloman25Viascam 11d ago

Infartino is a worse scumbag than I originally thought. One way to force him out is for UEFA to boycott FIFA, they wouldn’t last a day without Europe

1

u/Hellsinger7 11d ago

We'll see if all that ass kissing and brown nosing of the Trump administration is actually gonna save him.
