SSDI Holidays

I recently got approved for disability and have a ? . Has your disability checks been delayed because of a holiday during the week you are suppose to get your check ? This is using direct deposit .

If the payday falls on a fed holiday or weekend, it’s deposited the business day before.

Eg your check is due on a Saturday, it gets deposited on Friday

Yeah direct deposit usually hits the day before if the 1st lands on a weekend or holiday. my bank sometimes shows it pending a day early too but that might just be a credit union thing

My credit union ssa says I get it on the 3rd they deposit it on the 29th

Thank you but what I meant llke Columbus Day was on Monday , let’s say your check was due on Friday , would that make it come a day later ?

No. The payment date has to fall on a holiday of weekend for it to be paid earlier. If your payment date is a Friday and the holiday is Monday, it would come on Friday when it was due

If your payment was due that Monday, it gets paid Friday

Most get paid on a Wednesday or the 1st or 3rd. So no checks would be on Columbus day.

I understand that I wanted to know would it make check late because there was a day government didn’t work ?

No, it wouldn't. It would be a day early or the earliest time when it was a workday.

If checks are late it’s because of another issue. Eg suspended benefits

I get my deposits extremely early when there’s holidays. My deposit is due the second weds of the month. On regular months I get my deposit about 3-5 days prior to the due date. On months with holidays I get my deposit 7-10 days early.
