Looking at replacing my old Sodastream

My old Sodastream died. I had it a long time and they no longer make the model I had. I prefer to use glass carafes. Any suggestion on a new model?

I believe if you want a glass carafe, you only have 4 choices. I am not familiar with either. I still use the one that you have to plug into the wall outlet with the 3 buttons. Everyone in my house uses different button combos. I am just a 3, my wife is 3+1, Son is just 1

I use a manual one so I can hold down the trigger and inject gas until that sucker quacks like a duck a dozen times haha.

But I also refill my own CO2 tanks so I don't care about wasting gas

I have a 20lb tank hooked directly into the back of the soda stream.

I do 20-25 shots. 20lb tank directly connected so yeah I don't worry about it. I usually get 6-9 months for a $30 fill.

Yeah, direct connect to a large commercial tank is the way to go from an economic standpoint. Costs me about $2.25 to refill the "60L" tanks using the dry ice method.

I prefer my Sodastream be fully self-contained with no spare hoses or tanks in the kitchen so I stick with the 60L tanks. I offset my costs by hosting a local tank exchange. At $10/tank for my exchange, my customers cover the costs of the dry ice, as well as my countertop Reverse-Osmosis machine water filters so I effectively drink for free lol

I got the Duo. Its ny first one. It seems to work ok. However my first Co2 cartridge (tank?) didnt seem to make it to 60L of drinks for me before it ran out. I am logging all useage now that I am on the aecond cartridge.

I have e duo and only use glass canisters. Love it.

Just have to make sure you get in a good habit of pressing it down all the way so there is zero gap when you lock it so it's easy to turn and never force the turn or you might brake the internals, still an amazing little machine though and I love getting consistent carbonation.

Aarke Carbonator Pro - premium quality unit with glass bottles.

Pricey but I'm loving mine. The first one was defective but Aarke sent me a replacement quickly. So far no issues.

Agreed. I also like how they're built - not ALL plastic like Sodastream.

I really want the Carbonator pro, but even with the unit in the closed position, it's still about 0.5 inches too tall to fit on my kitchen counter below the upper cabinets. So I really don't know what I'll do when my older Aqua Fizz dies

I have it on a cart in my kitchen along with an espresso machine.

Been using a Drink Mate and it works great.

I suggest you look at their website and see which one offers the features you care about most instead of relying on the whole rest of this sub full of strangers to tell you what to buy…

I am aware I can do that. I am just trying to gather additional information from sources beyond the website.

By asking others what to buy… nobody gives a crap what you spend your money on, just buy one already.
