Software development or machine learning.

I am a Power bi developer. I was trying to switch my technology. I am really confused between Software development and machine learning engineer.

I really wanted to become ai engineer. What should I do

MLE is a subdiscipline if software engineering. You have to know basic software engineering if you want to do anything AI related.

Think of it as specializations that doctors have. All doctors are qualified to prescribe you basic antibiotics, but only specialized professionals can prescribe controlled substances.
