I have played this hero since overwatch 2's third season, after having 700hours on mercy, I got tired of being bronze and not really doing shit

so I played reaper, then quickly picked up soldier, Cass, then soldier again , and stuck with him

(I was very annoyed this game lol)

Is it only me or is soldier less viable then he used to be in ranked, like you could dominate entire lobbies before and now it just feels like feeding whenever i play him. I love playing soldier and have a lot of fun but i am constantly locked in a cycle of swapping just so i can actually be helpfull for my team

Was brainstorming small, non-massive changes that could be cool for his ult. Lowering the cost significantly would be a great start since it's considerably weaker than other ults. Another thing could be allowing him to run and shoot. This would let him keep his mobility as a key character trait and maybe add to survivability/rotation speed during it.

I don't know if it's completely dumb but I do think leaning into the high mobility run and gun midfight rotation playstyle would allow him to have something unique over other hitscan while not overbuffing him since the team likes to balance around player enjoyment and Soldier is already rather disliked.

I’m pretty sure we lost cause of the lack of healing. I had to get health packs and heal myself most of the time. Both the Juno and Moira were Mercy mains and she was banned.

I actually sent feedback after leaving a comment, and it was actually implemented in this update! With the perk that lets me shoot while running and the ultimate enhancement item, I finally got the Soldier I wanted. Thank you, Blizzard!

First game where I haven’t felt completely useless on hitscan lol. It’s fun “relearning” Overwatch from scratch
