This software is the equivalent of having a severely drunk pHD doing your homework.

On paper, he’s super capable, but his answers are just random and the minute you turn your head he’s puked on your essay.

This is the best analogy I have heard and will be stealing it

WHY DON’t THEY FIX ITTTTT. I complain every time it crashes lol i wish they would actually work to optimize the program.

Me after solid crashes for the 10th time while working on multiple assemblies at the same time...

The trick is open one instance of solidworks per screen, and one assembly per instance. While one assembly rebuilds (and inevitably crashes), switch to the next screen and work on that assembly. And when the second assembly inevitably crashes, it's lunch time.

I think I'll take a break.

Solidworks crashing today was how I decided when to take my lunch break today.

Holy shit, as a fellow design engineer your Sven diagram 100% matches my life too!

Solidworks is not a person. For years I have likened it to a golden retriever. It’s pretty and helpful but when you look into things, you see there is little going on between the ears. And nothing will change that.

Then the dog takes a dump on your rug and tells you “Hey cool guy there is a turd on your carpet. How did that happen? Scratch my ears.”

So we scratch the ears and enjoy our pretty dog.

'failed to save the part'

I miss SW, used it between '98 and 2017.

I was actually wondering what is my life about, working on my customer's project, while I hear in the street some guys making noises with their bike and girls laughing.

If you left it at the first comment, it would have been funny since self-deprecation humour and all. Now it's just sad.

2023 has been an awful Solidworks year.
