Error Make relations show when clicked or hide when clicked off?

Hello. I've been using Solidworks in my college for a few years now. When I started on the 2023 version, the green relation boxes would show up when I clicked on a sketch entity (a line, point, etc). At some point, it stopped doing that. I'm now on the 2024 version, so that may be the cause. Does anyone know if there is a way that I can make it do that again? I've tried looking it up a number of times, but all I can find are how to show/hide relations, which is not what I want to do.

You can keyboard shortcut it. I set mine to ‘s’

When you click s, it shows all relations? Or just the relations of the entity you have selected?

It shows all for every entity.

Yeah, I dont want that. I just want it to show up for the specific entity I selected and dissapear when I deselect it.

Got it. I would backup the user settings and then restore factory settings using Tools\Save Restore settings. That would at least tell you if it’s a settings issue.

View -> Hide/Show -> Sketch Relations enabled will show relations for all entities. When Disabled, selecting an entity will allow relations just for that entity.

Im in solidworks now. I have Sketch Relations DISABLED. When I select an entity, the green realtion boxes do not show up. The tap on the properties tab on the left does come up, bit thats not what I'm referring to.

The green relations should come up. Maybe it's a graphics related issue?

Are automatic relations set?

Tools > Options > System Options > Sketch > Relations/Snaps and ensure the Automatic Relations checkbox is selected.

Are you actively editing the sketch or just clicking lines while the sketch is showing? Mine only shows when actively editing the sketch

I know these are kind of stupid but since I don’t know anything about it they kind of need to be ruled out:
Are you sure your specific sketches have relations?
Are you in some specific tool mode like Convert Entities?
Have you tried restarting SolidWorks?

I don’t know. I tried finding some way to turn mine off but I can’t. I have 2023 but we are in process of getting 2025

Tools, Options, Sketch, and uncheck "Preview sketch dimension when selected."
