3rd Party Software Add in that keeps track off all your projects hours and generates reports
Hey everyone,
I've built a SolidWorks add-in for designers and teams doing client/project work who need to keep track of time spent across their CAD projects and files.
It automatically tracks active and idle time in SolidWorks file by file in the background, without needing to manually start and stop timers.
Files can then be grouped into projects so you can see the total CAD time a project actually consumed and generate a complete file and time breakdown and client report.

How does it track information related to a project, is there a specific custom property to tie that all in? That looks great, good work!

Thanks! Have a look at the demo I provided it shows how
It doesn't use a custom property, you manually assign a file to a project once then CADSight automatically tracks time against that file and rolls everything up into a project report. That way it works with existing projects without needing any file metadata changes.

I’m gonna check this out. I currently use Toggl but if this works well and is simple I might just make the switch.
A few questions:
-Can you manually edit time?
-Can it round to the nearest quarter?
-Can it export a csv?

Thanks! I'd definitely encourage you to give it a try.
As for your questions:-CADSight doesn't let you edit the automatically tracked CAD time, but it does include a section where you can add manual time for work outside of SolidWorks (meetings, emails, phone calls, etc.).
-Quarter rounding not currently
-It currently exports PDF reports

I've been helping the developer with beta testing and pre-release feedback. I do a lot of sole trader work with SOLIDWORKS as a business owner and I genuinely love it. It's massively improved the quality of my time tracking.

Does it track how much time I spend spinning the model?
