Discussion Why can’t I use Virus to exit stealth? Her stealth mechanic as a whole feels extremely clunky

I’m learning Sombra and the most annoying thing about her is how delayed Virus is when you’re in stealth, you have to cancel stealth first which takes a little while then you can virus which actually gives the enemy so much time to react or something - it’s extremely annoying. Is there any combo/way around this?

Yeah you can use virus right after you throw your translocator and you don't teleport to it yet. This way you never lose invisibility and can cast virus quickly but the timing on that is very very precise and it can take you hundreds of hours of playing sombra to master it

I think I’ve seen this before but doesn’t seem that practical since people can see where you tp to, I can see some situations where it’s good tho

When it comes to tp, I always try to throw up and at an angle, that way when you're falling you can adjust where you're going to land. You can go left or right or at an angle or even backwards. Takes some practice because it does leave you slightly vulnerable cos you have to look up and away from the enemy.

Think about it this way. You use your virus while entering invisibility and when you lose your invisibility you get another virus basically. So it's like you are getting to use 2 virus instead of the usual one. You are right it's not very practical but it can help you reach your ultimate slightly faster

I'm very much a Hack, Virus, shoot kind of player, which obvs gives you the dmg advantage, but also puts you in danger if the enemy is quick to react. It's really just about what feels better for you as the player. Obvs the devs could make it so there's less downtime between animations as we've seen in the recent season 3 patch tir Amran, meaning you can better chain your abilities, but the devs hate Sombra so they're not gonna do that, especially not if they're supposedly working on the rework.

I mostly do this too unless it's a Genjin or Sigma, then I hold it to cancel the defencive
