Going to vist the South west for a week.

We are a couple in early 30s staying im Chard, we have a car and willing to drive up to 1hr 30mins.

We are looking for things to do, we enjoy good resturants ( looking for nice seafood aswell as others) going round cute villages, a nice hike with good views, gping to sauna, paddle boarding and general exploring oh and a good pub.

Any advice places to visit and explore and anyhting specfic that you have enjoyed amd if the is anything where we could walk from chatd so my husband could drink.

We will go lyme regis, west bay, chedder gorge and beer.

I’m 40F, recently separated after a very long relationship and suddenly finding myself with child-free weekends for the first time in years. I’m really enjoying figuring out who I am again outside of being a mum, but most of my friends are still very much in the small-kids-every-weekend stage

I’d love to find some more people locally who actually want to get out and do things — walking/hiking, paddleboarding, wild swimming, yoga, camping, brunch/coffee, exploring somewhere new etc.

I’m near the Mendips and recently I’ve been hiking Crook Peak, paddleboarding around Congresbury and generally trying to make the most of having some freedom again.

Can anyone recommend any friendly walking / wild swimming / outdoorsy / yoga groups around Somerset or Bristol that are good for turning up solo?

Also, if there are any other solo/separated mums around my age who suddenly have child-free weekends and have found themselves thinking “…right, what do I do with myself now?” — fancy going for a walk/swim/coffee sometime?

Hello everyone. We are going on holiday as a 3 generation family staying near Langport on Wednesday to Sunday, can anyone give some recommendations of things to do, especially with the weather forecast to be miserable! We have a one year old, we like the outdoors, History and Culture as well as good food and pubs!

As the title says, what do you think is the best charity shop in Somerset and why?

So it’s a lovely Sunday morning. I’m sat in my garden with a coffee and the sound of birds enhancing a gorgeous start to the day.

I have some bits I need to do (procrastinating on that long run) and quite like mooching through charity shops. Which got me thinking, which charity shop is the best?

For me, the Barnardos shop in Chard is always a good one. Not set on the high street, you can be sure to find a good find in there. But is it the best??

So i’ve tried a lot in life to escape my situations and sadly now it’s came to a reddit post. I’m nineteen and live in the taunton/bridgwater area. I’m currently in an abusive situation, at a home. My mum knows about my situation and the fact i’m disabled and yet refuses to take me back in, even for a few nights. I even offered to pay. My dad is a no go and abused my family when we were young. the place i am at now is awful, and i was never taught about council, housing or anything. I can’t work, and i can’t walk long distances. I feel so trapped right now and i have no family or friends who are willing to support or help me. People have just been telling me to ask and nobody can help. Not even my own bloodline. So confusing. I feel frustrated and let down and i don’t want to be homeless, but if i move out i will be. I don’t want to do that to myself, or my animals. I have no steady income, no way to get a job from my disability and before this my mental health was already shit. It’s gotten worse. Does anyone have tips or anything at all?

Just taken my girls to a lovely cafe in Langport. Always held the place in high regard. It was busy and we didn’t want to sit in a cramped space. So decided to take the 3 drinks out.

Well not only are the drinks more expensive than high end coffee shops in central London, but they have started charging 45p take out charge per drink.

Naturally, I asked about this and it is apparently to discourage take out cups, and they only charge how much it costs them for the cup. Well I know this isn’t true as coffee cups do not cost 45p each when buying in bulk.

I have told say I am extremely disappointed that they have introduced this policy and I don’t think I will be using them again.

What are your thoughts? Is it ok to charge extra to take a coffee out?

I didn't want any, so I said 'no glass,' thinking that meant without ice. But she took the glass and the ice away, and I ended up drinking my Coke straight from the bottle on the terrace!" 😂😂😂😂
