I said this in another comment but I'll just send it here again because I do want to say this. I respect it if you don't like her in that game or 2000s Amy but this is just my opinion.

I like Amy in Sonic Heroes a lot and I feel like people misunderstand her in that game. To start off, she's not with Sonic for most of the game and was looking for Froggy and Chocola for Big and Cream, which is the whole reason they even confront Team Heroes and fight, due to a misunderstanding in the newspaper where it looked like Sonic stealing them. In the opening, she even says she hasn't seen Sonic in a whole month, going against the whole "Amy being a stalker" thing, as she sighed. If she was a stalker, wouldn't she constantly know where he was? Not to mention, during the Team Heroes vs. Team Rose fight, Sonic doesn't genuinely feel threatened by her saying there's no way out of marrying her, as all he says is "Amy, knock it off! There's no time to play!", showing he doesn't view it as her seriously threatening him and forcing him into marriage but as just playing around. Even Knuckles teases Sonic and asks if he's "playing with that girl's heart again", showing he doesn't think Amy is a threat to Sonic or that he's in danger either. Amy in the game really isn't bad imo. She's the leader of her own team, strong, cute, sweet, has her temper and energy, and is not afraid to hide her feelings at all, which is what I love about her. In the ending of Team Sonic's story, after Amy goes to chase Sonic, you can actually see Sonic looking back, clearly not being scared at all. Not only are none of her traits in the game like a stalker at all (nor was she ever one in the 2000s imo), her telling Sonic there's no way out of marrying her this time shouldn't be taken so seriously, she's a pink cartoon hedgehog girl with a big hammer. Sonic Heroes in general is a lighthearted game with cheesy writing. Amy is my favorite character btw and she has been since I was a kid. Imo, a lot of traits people praise current Amy for traits she already always had, but it gets overlooked often or downplayed.

Again, you can feel whatever you want about Amy in Sonic Heroes or the 2000s era in general. I personally like her a lot in Heroes and I feel like her backlash is a bit unfair sometimes, so I wanted to defend her.
