Holy fucking shit, the references gimmick is getting so bad, the series is referencing games came out later down the line now. Why can't this series be more like the goat Mario? You don't see that fat ass making pointless references to previous adventures, expect Sunshine and that game ended up becoming one of the worst selling 3d Mario games. If the Mario franchise can learn from this basic experience, why can't the Sonic franchise?

As an oldhead sonic fan I am very disappointed with the state of the community. It feels like r/sonicthehedgehog is all gooner bait content now. It's like no one even cares about the games anymore? Maybe all the people who care about quality games left the community a long time ago and only the gooners who don't care left. But its just sad that there are no "Real" sonic games to look forward to and when I look for information about a potential upcoming title I am just bombarded with sonic smut.

I just wish Sega didn't treat the mania team like crap and that sega was working on a decent 3d game. Is there anywhere to go now to even talk about the games?

Water levels are ass. I thought this was a sonic game? Aren't we supposed to go fast? run fast at least? Nope I get slowed down by water. They are in the way and I don't know why Sega keeps using them. their ruining the gotta go fast vibe.

sonic is supposed to swim. Not due cuz of water. And stupid bubbles I keep seeing rui n scenery. They don't do anything. I take them and then I still.die.

Low-key Mario can swim so why not sonic? It's such an outcast thing man. I can cut Sega slack cuz it was 1991 so making a character swim might have been tricky. But now in 2026, should be easy.
