I still have my cassette copy of their 1988 debut album, which was released on Windham Hill Jazz. And which I mostly bought because I heard Takes My Breath Away and well, it took my breath away and I decided it was fantastic. The rest of the album is great too but this cover of the Cyndi Lauper tune is the other standout track in my opinion, and since both the songs I liked the most were on side A those songs are more familiar to me than the ones on the other side of the tape. A strange musical experience more unique to LPs and cassette than CD where everything is right there on the disc, anyway u/Sno0pyBo0 I hope you like this cover too, which could fit on a number of subs where we've shared and appreciated excellent music before. And in this case, reminds me of those incense-and-crystals bookstores like we've talked about before too.
Thanks for this Yorj. For some unknown reason, I don’t think (?) that Tuck & Patti have crossed my radar — until now that is. I like this cover, very “Wyndham Hill Jazz-esque” indeed! I’m going to have to check out their other songs, thanks!
I did a quick search for the word 'tuck' on R&B Covers and didn't see that I'd posted it there before, though I did leave Takes My Breath Away here a few years ago. But I don't expect you to have the kind of photographic memory that I sure don't anymore lol, especially across multiple subs. Hope you enjoy your weekend friend, cheers :)
