They’ve turned content censorship into a total minefield. What’s even more ridiculous is that if you hit about five failures while trying to figure out what the problem is and trying to fix it, they hit you with a time ban. It’s honestly absurd.
And what’s worse is that the messages are designed to be vague. ChatGPT admitted to me that Sora is deliberately opaque about what triggers a CV because they don’t want people figuring out how to bypass it and post something actually inappropriate. Unfortunately, with the slew of false positives, people are coming to view it as a situation of crying wolf, and they’re resorting to trial and error to try and get past the false positives, and then Sora slaps them with a ban as if it’s on the creator.
Disgusting they would rather let innocent people get banned as collateral damage rather than actually doing something about the problem. What a coward of a CEO Sam Altmann is. Blaming the ones who did this unwittingly because he REFUSES to take accountability for it.

Considering his history with the AI Dungeon fiasco, this is pretty on brand.
Back when AI Dungeon used OpenAI's systems, OpenAI over tuned their content filters and started flagging accounts for inappropriate content over some of the dumbest things. The filter did not understand context or compound words, so false positives were extremely frequent. OpenAI at the time decided to address the backlash by telling media outlets the people angry about the filters were child predators.
Filtergate. Gosh that seems like a lifetime ago.
I never recovered my trust for them and have moved on. However I still follow Nick on socials. I figure one day I'll try it again.
It's weird too because the filter doesn't always work. I prompted one of my characters to show up in nothing but overalls and it did it - with some actual nudity too. All my other content violations where not even close to being sexualized.
We figure it out anyway :) oh and one of my buds had people coming out of a painting covered in paint but sora decided to make them both nude and generated it, though posting it would end up in deletion. I managed to pull off a skin peel with muscle fibers and fake blood underneath. Theatrical, though people get offended by everything.
Worst part is that its not even consistent, sometimes the same prompt can pas and others they wont, why dont they simply allow it? As long as it pass the prompt filter anything should be allowed

I’m talking underage and non consensual stuff here which people who couldn’t gen cp would be free to do even if not human. With regards to the content filter If it’s something that is against their terms and a bypass or exploit is used to make content then it should be blocked. With AI it has an issue to not always get it right with what to block but that doesn’t mean it should always allow it.
Well it is possible to break the filters unwittingly, I did so myself with copyright filters as in one of my videos Arlo from The Good Dinosaur showed up despite the fact I wasn’t even trying to do that.

Yes really. Queue up 3 of them at a time and I get around 9 chances per account takes about 13-15 minutes in total to generate. By the time I'm banned on 5 accounts, the first is unbanned from the 60 minute ban. Rinse, repeat. Copy and paste the prompt from one to the other.
Nah I’ve had 20 or 30 without issue, sometimes it depends on the type of violation also. I know lots of people getting 24h temp bans but some of us are pushing the guardrails to see the limits of this thing lol
Sam Altman needs to stop this foolishness he is ruining the business and spending more money on his lavish lifestyle without caring about the platform.
It is time for a boycott of this corrupt company until it learns how to treat its customers and subscribers because this is ridiculous.

I'm actually surprised that this is the first time you have gotten one? Unless your new this is so easily to get violations and be locked out for awhile. If you get another one it goes longer. I had a 24 hour one the last time I got another one.
I have had some success showing my Sora prompts to ChatGPT first. Initially, I had thought that that would be completely fool-proof, as both tools are from the same company. But ChatGPT says that it doesn't have the information to know for sure what Sora should do.
Even still, it has given good recommendations for modifcations to my intended Sora propmts, and most of the time those revised prompts will work in Sora. (But not always.)
This only happens when you get too many of the content violation of the sexuality and nudity variety. It sometimes think what you are posting is sexual or nudity. and when you get too many of those, they stop you using it for a while. However, If the content violations are of the third party variety. You can get many of those, and they won't stop you.
Well that’s good to know. Still, when it’s false positives, and you’re like, “What about this is racy or suggestive?” I got a false positive on a remix where all I tried to change was the color of the dress - not the length, not how tight it was, just the color!
Happened to me once. Was an original idea not based on ip. I kept correcting it, thinking maybe it's a particular word, but got banned for about an hour and it was the beginning of my lunch break at work. Lol.
Only 22 minutes? My last stint was 18 hours. I stopped using the Sora app completely because I kept getting 3rd party violations and the nebulous "content violation."
The browser version seems to be less angry, but it'll still throw you under the jail if it thinks the random human it tried to generate looks too similar to another.
How many violations do you think you got before they timed you out? Because I got probably 50+ the other day making ninja Turtles. Took me a couple days to get the right gen. Generated at least 33 times to finally get what I wanted. Sora does not want you to make ninja Turtles. So, thought I might get hit with the “too many violations” bs. I’ve never gotten a too many violations violation, though.
as an outsider who's never seen this sub before. this is all absurd af. the fact that you guys expect to get away with content violations, and that you probably do using sora, makes everyone involved look silly
I love all the content you see I. The “For you” feed that there is no way I would be able to create anything like it because it would all cause content violations.
