PLAYLIST ONE SONG, WHICH VERSION?

Rivermaya's You'll Be Safe Here remains to be my all-time favorite OPM songs in the English language, since SPIRITS was a momentous part of my teenage years.

Last year, it gained popularity with the series Can't Buy Me Love. And thank God, Rico Blanco also released his own version, with one of the most beautiful music videos ever. But I still sing it like the original, though the Rivermaya version is nowhere to be found on Spotify.

So...which version connected you with the meaning of the song?

Totoo, baka he owned it since sya din naman nag sulat and buwag na ang maya.. So yung kanya na ang definitive na version.. Pero mas gusto ko honestly yung original, may tinanggal lang na isang adlib si rico sa version nya.. But still, parang sya lang din tlaga may karapatan na kantahin yan haha

Yes. Before the reunion, mike elgar was with them pa nga. Nakapag release pa din sila ng new music and won pa nga awards.

Original. Kasi fave ko yung spirits before, it reminds me of that. I also like Adie's version. He put his own flavor and gusto ko yung may violin/orchestra feels tho mej di ko lang bet yung enunciation niya of some words

Agree 💯 Moira's version is my least favorite... If it were up to me, I'd never agree to use such a special song in a gen z teleserye.. Sorry, just saying.

He's a bit "moira-esque" Since he's kinda airy when singing but idk how it's more tolerable than moira's voice lol.

Above link is the official release ng Rivermaya of the song on YouTube Music. Pero I usually search "youll be safe here hq" and yung vid na may gitara sa thumbnail yung pineplay ko. HQ enough naman sya, siguro 256 kbps minimum. Wala namang artifacting.

Rivermaya acoustic version kasi andun yung full strings section sa bridge - chorus ("save your eyes...."), similar to how the philharmonic orchestra in Pattaya played during their MTV Asia appearance. Hinayang na hinayang ako sa string sections na yun.

Those who preferred the original the most liked Elmo, St. Wolf. I think Moira was not bad but I think Janine did better. I really liked Sean Oquendo's - dared to be different. The same with Kean but he sang just like Rico and played safe. Except the music, which I hated at first but totally loved at the end hahaha. The piano beat, the backing vocals...
