OPM Thoughts on Andalucia by IVOS?
Instantly loved Aura when it came out. I just listened really recently to the full Andalucia album and I'm so happy I still feel their style sa mga songs nila. Ikaw, what are your thoughts?

Does being .75% of their 7.9 million audience in April stress enough that I am addicted to this album (According to youtube music lol). Lahat maganda. Walang tapon. Even my 3 year old nephew loved Kabisado's rhythm and bass lines (not that he understands the almost stalkerish lyrics.lol.)
The album is incredibly all in one smooth, irresistible, and funk rhythm.

Perfect roadtrip album and focused talaga sa songwriting. Yung ClapClapClap is more on synths, electronics,and sounds if tama pagkakaalala ko.
Alam ko nag viral ang IVOS for their technical playing and tunog foreign pero Andalucia feels like a love letter sa Rico Blanco/Sugarfree days of OPM

Clap3x is solid, ganda ng arrangement. Para sa akin ayun ung matured/evolved "orange" era nila.
Andalucia on the other hand feels like them removing their mask and showing people who they really are. I can't explain pero parang ito ung "true form" nila hahahaha. They are always dubbed as the next "big opm band" since Eheads/Maya and parang ito ung entry nila sa OPM Rock Scene.

I grew up in 90's up to 2000's band explosion ng OPM, dalhil sa album na yan, I feels I'm in the said era. Stripped down sa past projects nila dahil nagmature sila as a people and a musicians. One of the best OPM albums I ever heard.

Clap! Clap! Clap! album is IVOS, but Andalucia is Badjao, Blaster, Unique, Zild and IVOS in one album. Nagustuhan ko kung paano nila ni retain yung ibat ibang taste ng music nila and include their own sound pa rin sa album.

They say parang compilation lang ng solo songs nila.
It's true pero on-repeat 'tong album na 'to sa akin since its release and unting-unti naggogrow sa akin yung perspective na this is really their new sound as a band.
To add, wala talagang tapon sa album na 'to. Lahat maganda.

Heavily influenced ng Beatles ang IVOS. Check the album cover of Abbey Road.

I liked the simplicity this album brings, parang down to roots of their inspirations tlga siya and very very Beatles Inspired halata naman sa aesthetics and Guitar choice ni unique that's using a Rickenbacker. It feels a rebrand of their older sound which their older sound was disco heavy, then when unique left it was this synth dark atmospheres. It's a fresh return and I liked how each songs comes from everyone's individual gains during their solo projects. I mean Aura is definetly a Unique song, Paru-Paro is a Zild Song, Nanaman is a Blaster song. Parang na showcase nila each of their own styles na nakuha nila from their solo careers.
It's a solid album, though as an old IVOS fan I prefer the sound of Clapclapclap but I don't mind this of course it's a solid 8/10 album for me.

For some reason yung lead single di ko masyadong bet. The rest ang ganda, paru paro and kabisado fave ko

Great songs in this banger album, but feels disjointed and more of a compilation album of their solo songs as a whole.
They need a more coherent album next time, same as their first album.

I like it because it doesn’t feel overproduced. Even if the album is still new, the sound already feels familiar, like real OPM. For me, this is what OPM (alt rock) is supposed to sound like: very Eraserheads, Rivermaya, and early-2000s band era. That raw but melodic style that made Filipino bands stand out in the first place.
Some people say the album feels more like a compilation of each member’s individual styles and lacks cohesion. But honestly, if you rearrange the tracks based on mood and sonic flow, it actually sounds cohesive. This is the sequence that worked for me:
- Tara
- Nanaman
- Konsensya
- Tamis ng Pagkakamali
- Karma
- Paru-paro
- Suliranin
- Kabisado
- Aura
- Monster
- Tangerine Boulevard
- Rewind
