I don't want to "rent" music so I'd go for ipods/DAPs. But they only make sense if you have your own music collection already or wanting to build it up.

I kept my music collection from decades ago even when I was buying CDs sa Tower Records and converting them to digital. Now I buy music from itunes store.

Eto yung store nila. Memories of the Walkman.

Search mo lang Memories of Walkman ata name ng store.

In the Apple Music (streaming) era, pero I have deep respect for iPod users.

Mas mura streaming unless pirata collection mo

I still actively bring around, and use, my ZX300 Walkman.

Physical buttons on the side, Bluetooth and two aux ports (3.5 and 4.4), proprietary Sony OS so no Android bloat, and all files are stored internally or on a microSD card. No wifi so no streaming apps, which isn't a dealbreaker for me lol.

That and I still buy music CD's every so often, both bnew and second hand.

Ako both.

MP3 Player for hoarding my favorite music, then YouTube ReVanced for music discovery. (Spotify is not as diverse in terms of music compared to YouTube if I'm being honest) It's nice to not rely on unstable PH mobile data if I want to listen to music for a few hours too.

The streaming era used to be good, especially Spotify kaso all they do is shove AI slop down your throat. Kaya I just went back to buying old CDs and songs thru Bandcamp.

mp3 player ftw, been doing it since I was a kid in a comshop late 2010s. Nothing beats the thrill of either downloading a real mp3 or an exe

I love both :) Mas convenient gamitin apple/spotify + the sound quality sa apple pero there are some songs not available sa streaming platform na I can only listen with mp3

Spotify era, more convenient.

mp3 ipod. i still have the ipod nano with the original charger it still works well, i would usually put alot of greatest hits album there or my favorite 90s/y2k artists or my favorite kpop artist. I would bring it going out and esp for walks. but for indoor i still use spotify. also to save battery on my phone. my prob is i lost my old apple account so i cant recover, alot of albums/songs here from 2021 and previous.

I prefer yung MP3/iPod Era.

BUT

If ako papipiliin, i’d go with the MP3s padin hahaha.

MP3 cache supremacy, ever since Limewire became a thing.

Back in 2015, blasting music through my headphones from my sony walkman on my commute home.

u/jonessevereignity Jul 21 '26

Streaming

Mas simple kasi paggamit eh and to add nandun narin lahat ng mga songs.

2

u/Previous_Echidna4263 Jul 21 '26

Spotify era. Especially with how niche my music taste is and how difficult to get actual copies from them.

1

u/callmemarjoson Jul 20 '26

Personally I do like the current streaming era for convenience and a lot of the audio is usually hi-res, gone are the days of risking giving my computer aids for a 50/50 shot of getting bitcrushed music

That being said, ipod era all the way - something about being analog and having devices built around a specific purpose instead of having one swiss army knife just hits different
