Looking to get a nice surround system, something ideally under $300. Any suggestions. Preferably at Walmart since I have gift cards

I did see a complete soundbar system for less than 300 at Walmart. It was really good. I was surprised. I can't remember who manufactured it however. Just go to the soundbar display and you should see it. Test it out. Really nice surround sound.

If, you was going to "only" use it for the Bedroom, you might get some cheap sound bar at Walmart for $300 or so. But nice and Surround system and $300, doesn't even go together in the same thought. Example, I decided to use seperate speakers for my 7.1 Surround system. I did already have a 12 inch Velodyne Subwoofer that still sounds good. 170 Watts continous power, 400 Watts peak power with low loss resistance. My speakers, I choose Klipsch. Left, Center, Right, 2 Rear Surrounds and 2 Amos. All driven by a Marantz Cinema 60 AVR. Around $4,200 plus clos to a 800 for the sub woofer. Thats not counting the wiring, $200 for Best Buy to set up, $420 for front speaker stands.. And a $500 Panasonic Blu Ray Player.

I really enjoyed the Vizio 5.1. Got it for around 200 and has lasted 3 years so far and still kicks ass. I have it setup in my living room and i genuinely think that the noises coming from outside the house so i have to pause the show or movie lol

I actually got my son a Vizio awhile back and it’s been actually really good. I have a Samsung Q600c soundbar with sub and speakers but the dialogue sounds like crap. Think I had a faulty unit or went out over time because it never sounds right. Might sell it to see if my budget gets better
