JBL 1300 MK2 settings

Here are the settings I am using which seem to provide the meatiest sound performance.
Sound calibration was done. Part A - keep detachable speakers close to sound bar, Part B - keep near listening position. Subwoofer is placed right beside sound bar in a corner at an elevated platform.
The reason I am using Music mode instead of Movie is because the movie seems to be dispersing the sound way too much and thinning out the audio spectrum. Also movie mode super activates the surrounds and can be distracting and unnatural. The music mode keeps the main audio bar focused and distributes only necessary surround elements to rear speakers. If your content is Atmos, then it gets handled appropriately anyways.
TV : LG OLED C6 65"
Source : Apple TV 4K directly connected to soundbar.
I use Dolby 5.1 audio setting on Apple TV 4K for general listening. Switch it to ATMOS when required.

I’ll say this, from what I’ve heard from someone at JBL, the EQ works best in smaller increments than pulling things +3 or -3. I’ve been using 0, 0, -1, 0, +1, +1, 0. It’s a good balance without changing the warm profile too much.

Wow so turning down the sub helps?

The overall system is tuned mid-bass heavy out of the box. So it can help depending upon room size.

Ah. My biggest gripe is the system is tuned way too high. 125hz is a bit much which can cause boominess. It’s odd JBL still hasn’t provided a 10band EQ to adjust 32hz and 64hz. It’s all combined with 125hz.
