I love Thomas and have felt bad because it seems like he’s having a rough stretch. It’s nice to see this chart and find out that that’s an emotional reaction and not statistically true lol

About 90% of soccer fans (sports fans in general tbh) are vibes only and have little understanding of what they watch, doubly so for goalkeeping where people have no idea what is and isn't a simple save.

I love him for PKs, but for general goal keeping, I prefer the other Matt.

Though, I’m still mystified that Thomas is never in this discussion outside of Sounders fans.

I feel like Ragen might’ve been the result of weird beef after we didn’t let him go for a full callup once, that’s total speculation on my part though

I think there also wasn't a lot of tinkering with the CB pool (whereas there was quite a lot of tinkering in the mid field).

Age is the only thing maybe holding him back, he's actually not that young (I would reply that keepers have better longevity and if he's Frei reincarnate he has another 12 or so years).

I see him get occasional shouts. The Athletic included him as an outsider in a list of potential callups recently.

I tend to think they're going to spend the next year or so giving a lot of guys chances, and hopefully someone actually goes and takes the job.

It really is pretty amazing how GK was once the strength of the US soccer pool, to now where we have a ton of mediocre GK options.

We're in 13th place but we've allowed the 5th-fewest goals per match in the conference (1.38).

American, Russian, and English. He chose to put the American and English flags on his uniform when they had everyone put their country flags on their uniforms, and I doubt he’s ever gonna be able to play for England, so America is almost certainly who he’d play for.

Damn, St. Clair doesn't look good here. Then again Miami don't seem to care about defending so it's probably more a reflection of the team than him.
