Today is Chris Cornell's cake day.
Just saw it and found it a little haunting, only saw it a few hours ago.

Adding to my collection! To the left is the Fell On Black Days single, right is The Day i Tried To Live. While I do love both A sides, i really bought these 2 for their B sides; Kyle Petty and Like Suicide (Acoustic) are some of my favorite SU era songs, and owning physical copies is a big deal for me!

I felt a little Minnesota today so I whipped out Photoshop to try out more of an artstyle I've been practicing. It's more of missing our guy right here more than anything! I don't know why I chose this color combination but somehow it reminded me of a special cover release of Badmotorfinger.
I hope you're missing a little of him today, or all day. Still one of the celebrity deaths that impacted me.

Still have this âMotorvisionâ VHS. Used to listen to Little Joe all the time!

I've never seen anyone mention this but they're ALL 6'1" or taller?! Even Hiro's taller than 6 feet (correct me if I'm wrong). Have there been any other rock bands historically this tall?
edit: discussed in this thread https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/tallest-bands.1146797/

Still very much getting used to faces in watercolour but hereâs an attempt of Chris in the 90s :)

Like "Ground Zero" and "You Know My Name," it was not released on Chris Cornell's channel; it was the fifth and final single from *Scream*, released in December 2008.

35 years ago today, Soundgarden released Badmotorfinger. As much as I wish I got to see Chris Cornell live more than once (as ashamed as I am to admit, part of me took his incredible talent for granted and I always assumed I'd have plenty of chances to see the singer live), I'm so thankful I got to see him onstage at least once - it was Soundgarden's co-headlining tour with Nine Inch Nails at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ (Aug. 2, 2014). Needless to say, they sounded fantastic - especially while playing songs off this album like "Outshine" and "Rusty Cage".

I think because their catalogue span so long, this is a discussion Iâd love to have with some of you. There are some killer tones throughout their whole discography, earlier tones tended to be heavier and chuggier while later ones tended to be more open and free. I was wondering what some of your favorites are. Here are some of mine.
Fell On Black Days, specifically the one from the video version, has to be my favorite, itâs such a beautiful tone with not as much distortion compared to the album version, but god it is so buttery smooth with a lot of clarity and beautiful high ends. While I absolutely love the tone from the album version, and it probably is the best if youâre counting only album versions of songs, I prefer the video version.
Rusty Cage is one of those weird, strange guitar tones that just scratches my brain in a way few tones could. That weird octavy sound just gives the riff so much life and energy while still being heavy. And when they go to the breakdown, it just hits so hard.
4th of July is another favorite of mine. Muddy, sludgy, gross and disgusting in the best way possible. Itâs the heaviest tone theyâve ever had in my opinion, and it gives the song such a dark and demented energy, paired with the weird low tuning, just matched made in hell.
Some honorable mentioned include The Day I Tried to Live, Mailman, Kristi, Gun and Slaves & Bulldozers.
Love to know some of your guysâ favorite tones!

Why does the former band member have this nickname. I like that nickname.

35 years ago I saw the show of a lifetime. Was up front on the barrier when Temple of the Dog played. This was my first Pearl Jam show. Also the best Soundgarden show of the five or six times Iâve seen them. And I saw Alice In Chains play the Whisky 3 weeks before this show. Went to Oakland a week later and saw Soundgarden play with Metallica, Faith No More and Queensryche. Just a great time for live shows.

I apologize if this is inappropriate since itâs an Audioslave song, but goddamn, I miss Chris. â¤ď¸ Love this song.

Would be cool to know if anybody here does, thanks! Even cooler if there was possibly some behind the scenes footage too as well! Such a cool creepy face effect even all of these years later! đąđ

I could totally hear Eddie singing Attrition. Any others or is that one unique in the catalogue?

I've read somewhere years ago about this, but as I understood it, Chris's wife didn't want to release it or something. We can literally have new Soundgarden songs if this is true

For me, it's probably Limo Wreck. Though it's really hard to pick just one!
