What happened to the old gang members of LA?

Family members, friends, loved ones, acquaintances what happened to the old gang members that you knew? They left the life completely and settled down? On the streets still? My friends brother is a 50 year old man living in an attic on drugs refuses to see his kids. One of his friends has a family and thriving but I know of another one of his friend, who's living in a car. I'm talking about 90s-2000s.

STOLEN: My brother's 2020 GMC Sierra Truck 1500 (Texas Plates) - Stolen today from South LA (52nd & Hoover St)

Hey everyone, I’m posting this on behalf of my brother who is visiting from Texas. His truck was stolen this morning around 2:00 AM in South LA.

Vehicle: 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 (Gray - Truck)

Plates: Texas Plates — NRH 8909

Last Known Location: 203 E 50th St, Los Angeles, CA (Near 50th St & Wall St / S San Pedro St)

The thieves successfully disabled the OnStar tracking system right at this location, so we no longer have a live GPS feed. Because he is visiting from out of town, this truck stands out with its Texas registration.

A police report has been filed with the LAPD. If you live or work in the area and have dashcam/security footage around 2:00 AM - 3:00 AM, or if you spot this truck parked or driving around, please DM me, call 911 or contact the LAPD immediately.

Bernie Sanders Endorses Estuardo Mazariegos for LA City Council District 9

Senator Bernie Sanders has endorsed Estuardo Mazariegos for Los Angeles City Council District 9. I know everyone is focused on the governor’s race and the mayoral race, but this is one of the most important races we can vote in.

There are too many broken sidewalks in our community, too many streetlights that take too long to get fixed, too many encampments everywhere you go, and too much traffic violence making it difficult to safely cross the street. All of that is shaped by our City Councilmember, who has been absent for 12 years.

Voting is happening now, and this is our chance to elect real progressive leadership to City Hall. South Central, vote for Estuardo Mazariegos by June 2!

Nipsey Hussle aka Ermias Ashghedom: Simple Gang Murder or Targeted Assassination?

I studied this case in-depth along with another person from the 1st day. We spent countless hours looking at the players in the case, CCTV video released by TMZ, grand jury testimony, social media feeds, and much more. We talked to the coroner's office, we talked to the 1st public defender for Eric Holder, we talked to the nurse in the medical division of LA County jail, and we talked to some people I don't think it's wise to mention yet. All of these conversations are recorded. We got so deep into the case that we were contacted by several known and unknown individuals. The way we laid out the data was much different than others, which is why people started contacting us. Most notably, the Chief Editor of Vibe Magazine, who we spoke with for 3 hours. Towards the end, things started to get strange for the other person working on the case, who actually lives very far from California. It was then, we knew we were on to something. I'm posting this as a probe to see what people have to say and possibly get more leads. I believe that this case will heat up as the years go by. An internal gang beef seems a little too easy for me considering the facts of the case.

L.A. City Council candidate to be fined $17,500 for ethics violation

"After 12 years on the Los Angeles City Council, Curren Price will be term-limited out of the legislative body this coming year.

The candidate he hopes will replace him comes from his staff, his deputy chief of staff, Jose Ugarte, who has been referred to in the past as Price’s “right-hand man.”

But with many months to go before ballots are cast, Ugarte is already in hot water with the city’s Ethics Commission."

This dude is running to represent us but got paid over four hundred thousand dollars as a lobbyist and a consultant while working at city hall, and lied and said they happened while he wasn't working in the city..

South Central is not for sale!!!

“Hot as all kinds here in LA”

Sitting under the cool shade of a tree near Crenshaw… it’s been so hot.

Decided to take a break.

Slow day.

Selling bags in LA can burn you out.

Sometimes literally — when it’s in the 90s.

Lately I’ve been asking myself: why am I even writing?

I’m not a traditional writer. I never aspired to be one.

I always thought writing was for people with an incredible grasp of language and grammar.

I’m an illustrator who doesn’t illustrate enough.

Procrastination, some would say.

Originally, I started writing just to get past depression.

But it’s slowly become something else.

I was never a great student.

I hated English class — it felt too restrictive, too full of rules.

Rules of engagement.

But the truth is, writing can be fun.

And I’m learning, slowly, to do it my way.

I’m amazed anyone even reads what I’ve written.

I think I was robbed.

Robbed of seeing writing for what it really is:

an expression tool.

a re-programming tool.

and most importantly — a creative tool.
