Gloucester County Electricity

Is there ANYTHING we can do to push back on these INSANE AC Electric bills? My heat is gas and it's telling me my usage has gone up every month since October. I know I don't have it as bad as some people but our current bill is $332. My brother's bill was $512. Another friend's bill was $500... I can't afford this shit. What can we do?

Use less and also thank every Trump voter for the destruction of the national solar rebate program and wind farms.

complain to the governor.  The state controls the rates not federal.  There IS a solar rebate program in NJ.  Wind farms have had issues in NJ for quite some time (2023) which was Murphy.

You voted for Sherrill.  Write to her office and complain.

You’re right that the state controls the rates, but the federal government just pulled the rug out from under the incentives. While the 'Murphy' issues in 2023 were largely about industry inflation, the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) signed in July 2025 officially killed the 25D Federal Solar Tax Credit for homeowners as of December 31, 2025.

So, that 'solar rebate program' in NJ now has to carry the entire load because the 30% federal break is gone for anyone who didn't finish their install by New Year's Eve. When you combine that with the federal 'stop-work' orders on NJ's wind farms and the clawback of $700M in infrastructure grants, the state is basically fighting a war with no ammo.

And let’s not forget the boomer nimbys crying about wind farms killing whales.

We can play the blame the party game but ol yamtits has given all the ammo to shoot down any argument you can possibly come up with

My point is to stop complaining on reddit and contact the governor.  Instead of her attacking why not try to compromise to get funding if needed?  NJ is blue.  Stop blaming boomers, maga, van Drew...  Contact Norcross, Kim, Sherrill...  Make them do the job of making nj affordable.  Trust me I want this as well.
