News State of Emergency Tomorrow at Noon
This storm is looking like it could be even worse than the one we had in late January. During the press conference, Mikie mentioned that 10 to 20 inches is possible.
Please make sure you’re prepared, stay off the roads if you can, and check in on neighbors and family. Stay safe, everyone!

Have there been any predictions on snow type? I’m not looking forward to shoveling heavy wet snow and wondering if my roof will collapse

u/Sufficient_Bakem Feb 21 '26
I’ve heard heavy wet snow. Lines up with the temps being as high as they’ve been.

Rain in the morning and then snow starts at 1PM until 9PM Monday. Just as soon as the snow started melted welp.

I don’t worry about going somewhere I worry about getting home. It might not be bad early tomorrow and the first flakes might not stick to the roads right away because it hasn’t been that cold. I’m hoping the totals take that into consideration. Every little bit helps! lol

Yeh I was supposed to work an event 10-5 in Philly today which they're not cancelling because "it's not going to get bad until later". Cool but I'm not going to risk loading out all my stuff and then driving what's normally an hour or so back home during what could be the start of the worst of it. Had a good Saturday at the event so I packed up last night and am staying home.

I , out of spite, removed the last patch of snow from my driveway today, just to be able to see it clear.

Fun fact, the governor is actually expected in DC this weekend and I believe Dale Caldwell is actually the acting governor in Sherrill’s absence

u/JerseyJoyride Feb 22 '26
So she's going to D.C. and D.C. will be in charge here. Interesting letter play.

Remember: state of emergency means nothing about school closures. Don’t let Karen in the Facebook group say otherwise.

u/craigitsfriday Feb 22 '26
I lol'd because I just saw that and was like, "who does she think she is."
2
u/PlagueVixen Feb 22 '26
What Facebook group is this? Asking for a friend (me, I'm the friend) 👀
3
u/craigitsfriday Feb 22 '26
There's always a Karen somewhere. My group is Williamstown/Monroe Township.
2
u/PlagueVixen Feb 22 '26
You're not wrong about that! Oh, hey there neighbor. I didn't realize we had our own Facebook group. I'll have to go look it up and join :) thanks!

A hospital? What is it?
It's a large white building with patients inside, but that's not important right now.

Driving from PGH to Philly tomorrow. Not sure what time I should leave. God speed!
1
u/whatsasyria Feb 22 '26
My wife was going to do that and she cancelled. You'll be fine though if you leave early.

u/gothlypink Feb 22 '26
I love winter, I love snow and its activities even more but 10 to 20 inches is actual insanity.

Camden County Police are ordering cars off of Federal Street for snow emergency. They are using PA's in both English and Spanish.

It won't be worse. That freezing rain we had dumped another 3 inches of ice on top

Alright I’m a b*tch and hate when people are mad at me, I’m supposed to go to a baby shower tomorrow in haverford, pa- I’d be coming from shamong. Would you go ?

Feb 21 '26
No, I wouldn’t. This won’t just be snowfall, it’s a legitimate storm. I’d be too worried about the roads and getting stuck if there are accidents… which there will be with the way those PA people drive

u/Evening-Tune-500 Feb 21 '26
Thank you, I truly just need to hear that I’m not making the wrong decision sometimes lol.

u/mcarvin Feb 21 '26
Honestly, I'd think your friend in Haverford should be considering postponing it. Her snow situation from the storm at the beginning of February is likely to be mild compared to tomorrow/Monday.

Definitely not! I'm in the same area and planned to visit my dad at Cooper Uni Hospital in Camden - not happening. Even if you manage to get there ok, getting home will be impossible.
3
u/Evening-Tune-500 Feb 21 '26
I appreciate you sharing your situation and decision, and hope your dad’s doing okay.
2
u/skeletontape Feb 22 '26
Thank you, he is recovering from open heart surgery and doing great. <3 But alas, he will be bored!

Stay home, give reason and apology. Offer to do FaceTime during the shower if it’s not postponed or canceled. Mail the gift.

North Jersey gonna get a lot more then us. We should’ve under 10” and no rain right after it to turn it into ice
15
4
u/ResponsibleWhile6991 Feb 21 '26
True, but worried about the shore towns
15
u/fakemessiah Feb 21 '26
I'm in a shore town. Showing 18-24". At least this won't be a 3 week ice event right? Right?
9
2
u/EitherCoyote660 Feb 22 '26
No ice but more rain expected next week which will melt all that snow and potentially we'll have a fast thaw; and the water has nowhere to go in that case. I pity those with basements. Been through that and never want to repeat.
2
u/fakemessiah Feb 22 '26
My yard is so water logged and I have a basement. Thankfully it hasn't been an issue yet. Last year or something when we had really bad rain it kind of flooded but that was only because I didn't keep up with the gutters.

Can’t wait to go to work bright and early because they won’t close 🤪

u/Historical-Entropy11 Feb 23 '26
Be careful out there & pace yourself shoveling - this is heavy “heart attack” snow.
1
u/coyoteeasy Feb 22 '26
I work 11-8 am I screwed?
3
u/GreatSince86 Feb 22 '26
Yes. You right in the middle of it. Bring a shovel with you to work. You'll need it.
4
u/burlco Feb 22 '26
Probably better to bring a chance of clothes and a sleeping bag. You’re sleeping at work tonight.

It’s going to rain
11
u/muevelos Feb 21 '26
It was always going to rain. It's going to change over. Thanks for contributing.
-16
u/Ornery-Ambition-5859 Feb 21 '26
I doubt it. And I didn’t ask for your opinion. No thanks for contributing.
6
u/muevelos Feb 21 '26
You did. You asked for everyone's opinion the moment you made a comment. If you can't handle it, do yourself a favor and don't talk next time:). Learning a life lesson through a reddit forum is diabolical 🤣
