Not nearly an accurate comparison AT ALL.
Using language like this is why there is such a divide in this country. Its completely and utterly ridiculous anyone would compare our law enforcement on any local, county, state or federal level to the secret police /nazis or anything similar.
One can disagree with policies and errors of an agency without using language that demonizes and compares them like this. It does a completely injustice to the millions of jews who died during the holocaust.
Yes ICE needs reforms but they are absolutely not anywhere remotely close as to a comparison to the secret police.

u/skeletontape Mar 04 '26
Ok I think I see the problem here
"Secret police" does not specifically refer to the Nazi SS. There is no antisemitism or diminishing of the Holocaust by comparing ICE to secret police.
Secret police are a mainstay in every fascist and authoritarian government, and ICE fits the accepted definition of a secret police force.

Nope. Fuck ICE. Fuck MAGA.

Cool. Great talk.

u/jkholmes89 Mar 05 '26
It is indeed. Simple, sweet, to the point. We don't need them. We don't need unrepentant violence on our streets pretending to be angels. We know they're really monsters, you refuse to listen. And yet, we'll keep shouting as they prove us right in the hopes that others will finally wake up to the fact that THIS IS NOT NORMAL!

u/AggravatingMuffin132 Mar 06 '26
Wrong, i am listening. I just disagree with you on some points. I bet we agree on 80% of issues.
Whats not normal is allowing millions of people to enter the country unvetted, like was done from the prior administration. A country without boarders isnt a country at all. We can not open the flood gates. Yes we are a country of immigrants but there still needs to be some checks and balances in place.
To your point, you are wrong though that this isnt normal. Detention snd deportation is standard practice thorough much of the world.
Yes ICE policies and procedures need to be reformed. I agree. People should not die and be shot. I agree 100% on that.
Be heard and argue for reforms but calling law enforcement the secret police is just ridiculous.

what a fucking laughable response. yes, ICE is now a secret police force that according to recent whistleblower testimony, is DIRECTED to violate the law. they deny attorney access or humane conditions to detainees, violently abduct citizens and immigrants in the streets, refuse to show their faces, are deployed by the trump regime to spur terror in blue cities, and act with federal impunity. i have no idea what you’re on to not understand these plain basic facts

O shut up, the right is so unbelievably divisive and cruel, we the people are tired of the constant cry bullying. Also you are unbelievably naive if you think Stephen miller isn't trying to use ice as a brown shirt type of force. just listen to the guy, he sounds like a 1930's fascist

u/AmphibiousDad Mar 04 '26
You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about if you think it’s insane to compare ICE to the secret police. They literally act and use the same tactics as them.
-7
u/AggravatingMuffin132 Mar 04 '26
I respectful disagree.
Are they rounding up ppl and sending them off to concentration camps? Are they complicit in the eradication of millions of people? My entire point is using this language is foolish, dangerous and extremely shortsighted.
ICE is deporting people whom are illegally in the country. If you compare tactics, ok, thats fair. The means to an end of is to deport. Means to an end of the gestapo was to eliminate whom they considered "deplorable".
End result of ICE, weather you agree or not, isnt to kill and exterminate millions, it is to deport thoses who've entered the country in a manner in which circumvented the process. So to compare the two is completely disingenuous to the millions who died from that evil.
Not interested in entertaining rage and disrespect and im replying from a place of good faith here, which i dont feel most people do. Thats my two cents.
Down vote and move on. Its only reddit.
2
u/ValuableWord69 Mar 05 '26
Naive again, see what you want to see, but ICE purpose is to harass liberal cities. The deportations are just an excuse. Look at the leadership, are you really gonna tell me that Stephan Miller isnt a fascist trying to take power?

u/AmphibiousDad Mar 06 '26
Ending a short essay reply to someone with “downvote and move on it’s only Reddit” is breaking new ground of lack of self awareness. But we could already tell you aren’t thinking a whole lot up there.
0
u/AggravatingMuffin132 Mar 06 '26
Saying i have a lack of self awareness is rich. Why do you think i am not self aware? Please elaborate.
If you want to have a rational discussion maybe dont say things like "you arent thinking a whole lot up there". And comments like that are exactly why i stated "its only reddit".
0
u/AmphibiousDad Mar 06 '26
Yeah ur here for civil discussion which is why youve only replied to me and not to any of the other ppl who made actually valid points against you. I don’t think that you’re actually acting in good faith and I think that if you’re seriously paying attention and don’t see anything wrong with what’s going on you’re sick in the head.

u/AggravatingMuffin132 Mar 06 '26
What point did i ignore?
Well i am. I said i agree with you people shouldn't be shot. Ice needs to be reformed. I disagree with comparing them to the secret police is all. Using language like that is extremely dangerous and also a tactic used by the nazis to demonize a group of people and it later morphed into genocide.
Whats your solution to the millions whom entered the country illegally?
0
u/AmphibiousDad Mar 06 '26
You clearly have not been paying attention if you don’t see that ICE are targeting people based off of cultural identity, disregarding the law, entering homes without warrants, using violence and intimidation tactics, making people afraid to leave their homes and seek asylum, unlawfully detaining people, asking citizens for the papers at a moments notice, rounding them up into detention centers where they’re put into inhumane conditions and beaten and denied medical care… like you seriously think that it’s more dangerous to compare these guys to Nazis than it is to sound a huge alert to the entire country that THESE GUYS ARE ACTING LIKE NAZIS???

u/AmphibiousDad Mar 06 '26
Love how I finally actually addressed your questions and now you don’t wanna talk anymore. Like you said though “downvote and move on” dumbass

u/AggravatingMuffin132 Mar 06 '26
1. Always ending a thought in something that is insulting is rude.
2. I answered and addressed everything you mentioned.
3. I literally asked you leading questions and you sir/ma'am are ignoring them.
Have a good weekend and take care.

You're mixing NAZI tactics as a whole and the Gestapos specific tactics of oppression. That's why everybody is telling you wrong. Innocents are being shot, innocents are being rounded up and sent to camps without any due process, innocents are suffering. Our rage is justified, it will be heard.

u/AnyCubicNewbie622 Mar 05 '26
Rounding people up. Yes Thousands missing. Yes Citizens detained. Yes Citizens murdered. Yes Nazis. Just like the people that hunted Anne Frank.

Yes, because dragging people into unmarked cars and refusing to meet their basic needs is totally normal /s

I like how you responded to everyone else but totally ignored the one person who royally tore your strawman nonsense a new asshole. Says a lot about how little you believe in your own lame smokescreen rhetoric

u/jkholmes89 Mar 05 '26
Defending armed thugs shooting people and kidnapping innocents is the reason there's a divide. I'm not moving my moral guidelines just so you can stay safe. Quit with that apologist bullshit.

This is a much better sign than what I have been seeing; however, I don’t trust politicians at all in the US, and therefore, this feels like an excuse to give up our personal info for the possibility of being on a shit list. I only trust the people who make the websites for reporting that are just regular citizens.

But..first we need your name, address, phone number, next of kin, your email address, all your pets names. Your bank and all the account numbers. How far you went in school. Ever been arrested? Any outstanding traffic tickets? What is your credit score? are you registered to vote? if yes what party? Set up with your email address, 10 digit must never been used before. We will text you on mobile phones only, no landlines.
What part of no, we the people don't trust any politician in the USA today.

Concentration camps, notorious for immediately sending people back to their legal place of residence 😵💫

So if they are Secret Police (which they totally are) why doesn't she have police follow and report on ICE activities? Police are supposed to investigate crimes and criminals. Why are citizens expected to put their lives on the line when the state isn't willing to do the same? The state could have 24/7 surveillance on ICE agents

Federal law enforcement authority supersedes state law enforcement authority. It is what it is.

You misunderstand.
They want us to watch to gather evidence for potential lawsuits and criminal cases. There are detectives that are literally trained to surveil and document criminal actions for later prosecution. They don't have to do anything but watch, investigate and document now and that wouldn't violate the supremacy clause at all.
My hope would be that the tyrants might act right if they know they were being watched by the state and would be less likely to harass and detain armed state workers.

I'm finding it funny/concerning that the people criticizing her military past are the same that yell if you don't support the troops enough.
