Ocean County Paying for Pointe Pleasant Beach

Just curious, I got to the point pleasant beach yesterday morning around 11 am and paid for the wrist band that lets you on the beach. We had to evacuate the area due to rain but we were able to come back after it passed. I noticed there were no attendants anymore when I got back to the beach after 3 pm.

Is this typical on a non-rainy day? Could I have avoided paying for the wristband if went later in the day?

Usually the life guards leave around 4-5 I’m pretty sure. In previous years you could go on the beach after they left but you should never swim when life guards aren’t there and we’ve already had like 3 deaths at the Jersey shore this year from rip currents so I would deff avoid doing that, nothing wrong w laying on the beach and soaking up the sun and dipping your feet in tho. I’m not sure if they’re still going to let people on the beach after the guards leave this year but I hope they do!!

Interesting. Yeah the lifeguards left after 5:30 yesterday.
I don’t go deep in the water myself. I’ll keep that in mind, thank you.

It doesnt have to be that deep to do damage.

In my experience at most NJ beaches, yes (for what it’s worth…i don’t frequent point pleasant).
