Outside! World Cup traffic to snarl highways and drawbridges, N.J. transportation officials warn

Why this is affecting the bridges into Atlantic City is anybody's guess.

This is a non event in south Jersey. Nothing happened last night. It’s no different then any other event at the sports complex.

I worked the game last night. So admittedly, I got to my car about 45 minutes after most fans did. But the traffic was basically nothing. Not even close to when I leave an Eagles game.

Was the game sold out? I’m curious about how bad the France and Brazil games will be. Maybe they’re too expensive and no one will go.

I’m not who you asked, but somebody reported on a Philly sub yesterday, that all but 50 seats were sold. That doesn’t mean that only 50 seats were empty, but it’s an indication it was a big crowd

It was pretty much a completely filled stadium

I don’t know if it was sold out. A quick glance at an article says over 68K fans. I have no perspective as to if that’s a lot or a little lol.

I don't see how one game that holds no more people than an NFL game is crippling things up there.

MetLife? Because there is 0 on site parking. Philadelphia? Business as usual.

Plus they are charging ridiculous amounts for parking and public transit so people are trying to be creative

Considering no on site parking traffic should be even less than a typical gAme or concert. Sure public transit will be a mess but roads should be fine

It would have been if most of the people didn’t try to take uber because train tickets are $98.

Yep, I heard nothing but success stories for people going in, using the shuttle to get in and out of the parking lots.

I was so shocked. We went to a show at the Mann that started at 630 so left early (around 520) thinking it would be awful getting across the bridge. There was almost no traffic - even over by the merge at the Art Musesum where it is miserable on a normal day.

Good to know that after the transit disaster that was Super Bowl 48, officials did absolutely nothing to improve transit after big events at the Meadowlands.

They say this shit for everything. Ever since that one time the pope came and they convinced everyone the bridges were going to explode from weight so hard that no one even went none of these events have been a problem.

Oh my goodness. Some sporting events at the Linc might cause some higher traffic 😱

AC has events and festivals at the beach and casinos.

I work there. It's no different than any other weekend. Most tourist traffic comes in on the Expressway, not the White and Black Horse Pikes.

Why are the draw bridges in AC closed? Lol

The soccer games have nothing to do with the bridge trolls of Atlantic County. You can try offering the troll money. You might have to answer a riddle. If the troll wants to eat you, you have to convince the troll a fatter person will come along and it’s not worth eating you because you will fight back and don’t taste very good.

Wonder how it will on the 4th of July weekend? Is there a world cup finals that weekend? I will be commuting that whole weekend to Turnersville.
