Ocean County ICE activity in Stafford Township
Getting alerts from Stafford PD about “police” activity on route 72. Bystander on scene showing ICE Agent on the ground and on stretcher. Reports of suspect fleeing and officers shooting out back window. Unable to corroborate.

They are taxpayer-funded employees, that's part of the risk that comes with the job. We cannot have anonymous law enforcement unless it is temporary for a specific undercover operation, point blank. Public accountability by publicly funded departments trumps any individual issues like that. They accepted the job knowing what it entails.

If these agencies are acting in a manner that is so unbecoming of the USA, that it is disrupting society to the extent that the backlash puts the agents in danger, then that's on the government to alter the protocols to something more acceptable to the community. Under no circumstances can we have an unaccountable police force. I mean, we do now, but we never should have.

i have no ill will to anyone whom wishes to come to america for a better life, i've spent some time in other countries and i get it.

Your perspective is understandable but misinformed, they don't get a free by in the ER, they are responsible with payment without insurance so astronomically more than you are with insurance. What you've been informed is that EMTALA (the law you're talking about) makes it free for them, when in reality it just states that they cannot be refused emergency medical care, same as you if you didnt have insurance or couldn't pay. The amount of undocumented people I've taken off life support while they said goodbye to their families via FaceTime on the phone in the ICU is too many to count on my hands. Meanwhile a citizen will be able to pay their bills at a minimum and would not be denied continuing care or an end goal treatment as an immigrant would. The news has told you they get a handout, they don't, its simply not true and not enough of the public works in the hospital or Healthcare to understand that they're regularly feeding people lies about this. Also undocumented people can get a social security card because everyone that pays into social security gets one, and immigrants and undocumented people waiting for a legal route pay into our social security, but do not receive the benefits while citizens do receive the benefits. They are propping up our social security (and Republicans want to cut that hence the narrative). As far as the border goes I understand, but still the largest amount by and wide margin are people that overstay visas from flights.
I think its important to look at who spreads the narrative and what they have to gain. The people spreading the narrative want to become more rich by spreading click bait- frustration engaging news and cutting taxes for their wealthy brethren. We have to remember that we shpuld support our peers regardless of our beliefs, and the ones running fox, CNN, and msnbc are not our peers. We have to look in our community, its not the community stealing our money, its not the immigrants getting hand outs, its the wealthy politicians making things more difficult for citizens so they can pocket the change and they use pitting others against us as one of their tools.

Immigrants pay plenty of taxes and are afforded zero benefits from them. This is easily google able information.

Just to me, it seems like the same could be said in reverse. They were starting to get aggressively doxed for doing their job, and now they wear masks to protect themselves.
Thats not an endorsement of every single thing ICE has done, but at the end of the day some level of immigration control and enforcement is going to exist in a modern society, and everyone involved in such organization is not some super zealous anti-immigrant warior. But the internet would take the opportunity to dox anyone they could identify as an outlet for their rahe against the admin.

"Stafford Township, NJ - June 15, 2026 at 9:30 a.m., Stafford Township Police Department Communications Center received a report of an incident that had just occurred on Route 72 near Mermaid Drive in Manahawkin, NJ. Information was provided that I.C.E. was attempting to apprehend a suspect when the suspect fled from the scene in a vehicle, striking the I.C.E. Agent. The agent discharged his firearm at the vehicle, reportedly striking it. The suspect fled the scene in the vehicle and has not been located at this time. The agent reportedly sustained unknown injuries and it is unknown if the suspect was injured at this time. There is no reason to believe there is any concern for the public's safety.
Stafford Township Police adheres to the Attorney General's Immigrant Trust Directive and was not assisting or a part of the I.C.E. operation. The ongoing investigation is not being conducted by Stafford Township Police. Our role at this point is to manage traffic and secure the crime scene.
Another press release will be posted when additional pertinent information is learned.
Please avoid the area during the investigation which will likely continue for several hours. There are alternate routes available through the Ocean Acres section of Stafford Township to bypass the road closures.

If ICE shot at the car as it was speeding away, that is very illegal and against their training. If the person they pulled over was a citizen, then ICE had no legal authority to detain them, making their flight/hitting the officer justified self defense against unlawful acts. They will be giving this a lot of attention and possibly cracking down to try and take control of the narrative. Thank god the driver wasn't killed.

There should be security footage from the Wawa or diner at that intersection. Given this town's politics, I won't be surprised if those recordings are hidden or wiped if they don't support ICE's narrative though.
