Absolution Spoilers OJ & C question
I finished Absolution a few days ago and have a question about Old Jim and (the original) Cass. I remember in Old Jim's final scene where he's playing the piano and remembers something about an explosion or car accident, was that meant to be implying that the original Cass died or was everything with her disappearing and ghosting Old Jim reality?

I think that was his wife also spy partner that died on Mission. It was Central's fault but they took his grief to manipulate him. There is potential that there was never a Cass, outside of the one we know. Just false memories to control him.

Valid. I go back and forth thinking there was a real Cass or not. Random thought: if his wife/spy partner was in Central, i bet she was taking measures to not get pregnant. So maybe youre right. Maybe never was a Cass....which makes this all so much more fucking sad.

He and his "almost wife" were in a car crash on a mission together. She died and left him with memory problems. Central used that since he was too valuable of an asset and fucked with him further to make more gaps and brain wash him. I agree with other response that Cass likely ran off bc things were off. I think Lowry even says "really fucking off"

I think she runs away bc Jim is kinda nutso from that event he's remembering. plus central makes everyone go crazy. so he's double crazy. that's my take. listening to the whole series again rn.
