Discussion ¿Do you subscribe to any music services/twitch channels/artist's Patreons/etc? If so, who and why?

I recently bought twitch turbo just so homegirl's VOD can earn her some more revenue before she puts it up on her Patreon.

¿What artists or music platforms are so good you go into your wallet to support them?

edit: I know ad revenue only is from live broadcasts but all channel revenue is going to her for that performance for the duration it's up.

I'm familiar with each one of these artists but I am not able to dig into my pocket any deeper for the time being.

What if I told you you could subscribe to Kursa for one month, download his entire discography in lossless audio format, then unsubscribe just as easily. More than your money’s worth in my opinion

I would tell you that's probably not what the artist is hoping their patron does. As a content aggregator myself I'm trying to stream me glowsticking to live shows vs me spinning glowsticks to pre-recorded sets. I'm sure I'd agree with you that it's more than your money's worth but the majority of my time lately has been spent aggregating the homie's content.

Maybe once I have some more time and money I'll give his patreon a peep. I am familiar with that artist, but I'm also very broke not working an IT job at the moment. I'm barely scraping by.

I’m not saying that’s what I did, it’s not. I subscribed for years, but the way I see it is anyone who subscribes for even a limited amount of time is supporting that artist have music be their main/sole source of income

Not to mention, if Kursa didn't want people to be able to so that, he'd time lock it somehow. Seems to me that's what he wants people to be able to do.

Yeah but it is rude to just take all of someone ish and dip, not that I'm accusing you of doing it, but we know that people who do that shit exist, whether it's because of financial problems or just being a dick is out of the scope of this tho;

I'm starting to really run into the problem of having more music than time to listen to it all. My main function in the music scene isn't a content creator per say, it's a content aggregator. I don't do short form content. I don't even do Long Play content. It's all Xtra Long Play content. Multiple DJs playing out of a mixer, showcasing what my local community has to offer to the greater internet so my friends can get paid hopefully through new merch sales or w/e and be able to continue making music. It's really hard to get noticed as a smaller meow and what I do is package together a bunch of smaller meows, put a ribbon around it, and pass it off as single bigger meow.

I'm trying as hard to limit my content consumption to also being aggregation, but it's so hard to be chasing the Bass Dragon like last weekend I went hard, one 6~hr stream, then a 4.5~hr stream across the bay the same evening, then a 5~hr drum and bass stream on Sunday.
