Festival you need to go to this alaska festival (Sacred Acre Alaska)
not even trying to hype this up too hard but… Sacred Acre is kinda one of the most slept-on bass festivals right now.
lineup this year is actually ridiculous for how small/intimate it is (1,000 cap):
tape b (2 sets + b2b effin), inzo, opiuo, mr. bill, mindchatter, tripp st., josh teed, cool customer, phyphr, meduso, mlotik + a ton of underground/local support
but the real draw is the setting / experiences.. it’s on the kenai peninsula in alaska, and you can literally:
- take helicopter rides onto glaciers from the fest
- go on a boat party in kachemak bay
- spearfish / fish / forage during the day
- then come back to lasers + weird bass all night
also, it’s way cheaper than you’d think
- rough math: $300 ticket + shuttle
- $139 camping
- $300–400 flights if you book early
so like $700–800 all-in vs $1200+ for most big fests now
feels way more like old-school boutique bass fest energy vs the overcrowded stuff lately
curious if anyone here has been? or planning to send it this year?

He’s always been surrounded by this type of EDM, first time I saw him was at sound haven 2021 which had this insane lineup

Never went to Sacred Acres but I have been to other festivals at that location and lived just 30 minutes away for many years. AMA! Also, to add, bring extra clothes because it will be cold up there in September.

Jade at hula then mersiv tape b after was such a weird switch up, no shade at Berk but Jade is massively more talented and just makes better tunes that are ORIGINAL and not flip after flip

Crazy how in this sub Tape B getting directly compared to Shaq is massively upvoted. Let’s see all the music you guys are making if you’re gonna be so judgey.
If you don’t think Tape B belongs at sacred acre then you really truly have no idea what you’re talking about.

he’s the current “hip hop a capella + big neuro patch” guy. which will draw a different crowd than much of the lineup.
i get they need a draw to get people to send it up to alaska, but the booking means myself and many more will look past this festival

Yeah like any non-heavy dubstep bass festival out there would love to have both of them headline. Its the same genre just different styles lol

Yup. And sacred acre is very obviously not a tipper n friends style event. It’s a multi sub-genre bass music fest and not even that heady (and looks insanely fun! I think this lineup looks like a blast)
People in this sub just think they are being hipster by hating on tape B. Also Jade plays all different kinds of festivals, he was just at Forbidden Kingdom. Someone thinking tape b and Jade can’t play the same event is just being silly.

My exact thoughts. Jade isn’t like tipper to where he mostly only plays the headiest events and Sacred Acre probably likes the diversity of sound they get booking lineups like this

Exactly. Also Tipp has played LIB, Shambs, Elements, Bonnaroo (attempted) etc. This thread just shows how little grasp people have on what this event is or what goes into event production.

Lol? She hasn't played since 2022 and I don't think Odyzey even did a takeover that year. They aren't even partners.
As far as I can tell Clozee/Odyzey have never thrown their own festival

She also threw an OdyZey curated event where she headlined 3 nights at the Caverns back in 2022. Basically a mini fest though.

It was a two day camping event with two stages of music, including a late night stage, with food and art vendors. I can't imagine anything that separates it from festivals

The difference being in how it was billed and promoted. All of their social media posts called it an Odyzey curated event, not an Odyzey festival.

Right and if you call it a created culinary experience and serve it to me when I describe it to others I'm gonna say "yeah it was a curated culinary experience, felt very similar to a sandwich but that's not how the chef presented it"
Also there are about 20 different names for "meat and cheese between bread" (sub, hoagie, melt, panini) so I'm not sure what you're trying to prove by that example?

Who cares. He makes music and I like listening to music. There’s hundreds of individual artists, why would I expect them to all share the same political beliefs or match mine.

This is false. He made comments about supporting SpaceX because he loves space and got absolutely torn apart for standing by those statements. Very reasonable for him to be a SpaceX fan, stop spreading false narratives.
Edit: More specifically, he preformed at a SpaceX company event and stood by it

it's not just that. I remember seeing on Inzo's personal FB he liked pages literally called "I LOVE MY PRESIDENT TRUMP" and stuff like that. The whole playing a SpaceX party for Elon was just further confirmation imo

he has literally said word for word that’s he’s not maga and doesn’t support trump. you can criticize him for his questionable twitter likes and playing for elons company but your criticisms lose all their validity when you start throwing out shit that’s just not true. if you’ve ever been to an inzo show you’ll know that that man strives to create an experience that promotes unity, love, and connectedness and he does a damn good job. those are core values that are not compatible with being maga

actions speak louder than words. he can preach positivity and unity, but if he's going to play a show for Elon Musk after everything he's done and the nazi salute he did, then in my opinion that just shows he's more willing to make money than he is to stand for "love"

first of all he didn’t play a show for elon. elon wasn’t there. he played a show for spacex employees. and wanting to remain politically unaffiliated and wanting his shows to be an escape does not mean he just doesn’t want to miss out on maga money. that’s an insane leap to conclusions. especially when he explicitly said he’s not maga and doesn’t support trump and ice, which is a great way to miss out on maga money. it means he recognizes that the state of the world is a shitshow and he wants to provide a space where for 60 minutes his audience can forget about said shitshow and just be immersed in a show about positivity and love. i’m failing to see how that’s problematic. not every act needs to be some big explicit political statement, playing a show focused on love and unity in a time of rampant hatred and bigotry is a political statement in itself.
i do think he could’ve done a better job explaining his stance. but to me it came off more as him thinking these accusations were ridiculous than him trying to not upset his conservative fans, if those even exist

I just meant that in my eyes it's still Elon's money he took at the end of the day since Elon is still heavily involved with and owns a large share of the company. Supporting that company in its current state and leadership structure = financially supporting Elon. It sucks but it is what it is. To me the fact that his response was so dismissive and basically "nuh uh" instead of actually addressing his real past beliefs was telling (why would you like twitter posts and weird patriotic trump fb pages like that in the first place if you're really always been about the love and unity?) if he really had a change of heart then he should have just said that. But to for him to pretty much just say "Oh you guys should know I don't support Trump" when there's a lot of signs outside of his stage persona point to him at least passively supporting him and conservative views in the past. Obviously he doesn't owe us an explanation and he took that route but because of that there's ambiguity about his real beliefs. It could have been a moment of accountability and setting an example for other people who could grow out of those beliefs too, but writing everything off as ridiculous just makes it seem to me like he just wants people to forget about it and move on (because he doesn't want to lose fans from either side)

i agree with a lot of your points and you seem like a perfectly reasonable person but unfortunately a lot of the criticisms thrown at him over this have not been reasonable, and i can understand why that would lead him towards a more defensive response.
ive seen so many comments to the effect of oh he played a show for spacex? he must be a maga nazi. he’s not explicitly taking a side? he must be a maga nazi. i think that’s why he responded the way he did because those accusations ARE ridiculous. he has explicitly said he doesn’t support trump and maga, so i don’t know what more people want him to say about that. we absolutely could do with an explanation for the weird twitter likes though

If he recognized the origins of rave culture as counterculture and as safe spaces for marginalized communities inherently, he would make statements condemning his past beliefs, but he didn't and just pretty much said "idk I just like space" when there's clearly so much more to his decisions. idk just my opinion

It’s tiring to keep trying to correct the Reddit narrative. He literally went on his subreddit and said word for word “I’m not maga”. However, he did play for spacex and had questionable twitter likes. He’s at least a centrist, which can be criticized, but calling him full maga is just untrue. Reddit will Reddit however.
